I have 2011 4x4 double cab. I want to put 2 inch blocks on rear and 2 or 3 inch lift on the front. I saw a 07 tacoma with 275/55/20's on it & it looked nasty. Can I put these on a 10 inch wheel without major changes to keep from rubbing?

I’m not sure 275’s will fit a 10” wheel properly. I’m also not sure that a 10” will fit on the truck without modification. Most people run 8”-8.5” wheel width

Dont do a drop bracket lift to achieve your look. Stay around 2.5 in the front to keep axle geometry in good standing.

As much as I'm not a big drop bracket fan, that's the best way to keep your steering and suspension geometry with a lift. Most here prefer suspension lifts (lifting with the springs) and adding bigger tires for more clearance.

A small lift with blocks won't hurt, but when you get over an inch or two you can break the shocks by having them bottom out on bumps before you hit the bump stops. You could put spacers on the bump stops to solve this, but you'll be reducing your overall travel to only a couple inches.

Do it once and do it right. If you want to compromise performance, most of us are happy with Old Man Emu coils on Billstien 5100 shocks up front. Then an add a leaf in the rear leaf pack is acceptable, paired with rear 5100s. That's about as low end (price wise) as you can go and still have a truck that is reliable for work and trails (as well as potholes and speed bumps).

Even then, any tire bigger than 265/75/16 on stock wheels will require cutting some pieces off the truck - the bigger you go, the more you need to cut off.

Edit: Any lift over 3 inches on a 4x4 should be done with a drop bracket.

Thanks guys. I was looking forward to doing the work myself, but maybe I should go with a lift shop.

My wheels are 9 wides and I’m on a 3ish inch lift. Only scrub a little backing up at certain angles. You should be fine if you get a little choppy. There are guys out there fitting huge tires and wheels on 3 inches. You can do it!

This is important enough that you need to know what you are buying and why. If you don't want to do the work, that's fine. Don't let someone else decide what goes on your truck or I'll give you 10:1 odds it comes back f'd up.

I put the 3 inch lift on it with the 275/55/20 ridge grapplers on 10 inch wheels. It looks nasty with plenty of compliments.
