I have a 2018 Tacoma trd off road with a 3 in lift on 33” tires. Looking to buy a camper to take out on weekends and such and looking for recommendations on what trailers I should look into to comply with the towing capacity of the truck. Any help would be appreciated

Some essential questions that will seriously determine what type of trailer you may want:

Are you hoping to take the trailer off-road?

    What is your budget?

For sleeping how many adults, and kids?

Boondocking or for camps with hookups?

How much gear and other stuff do you typically carry?

Umm budget I’m not sure haven’t got that far just kinda wondering how big in length is too much or just right for the Tacoma hauling and the towing capacity. I saw that it’s rated for 6700 max and some trailers with 1 bed and kitchen with bathroom, shower and a living room mostly run 3000-5000lbs so just kinda wondering if that’s too much for if that would be good hauling. I live in West Virginia so lots of mountains and dirt roads. Looking to take it to campgrounds but have to go up hills first

Have the Rpod 190 and dry weight is 2900. The v6 tows it great. Get a weight distribution hitch and sway bars and your good. I wouldn’t want to tow much more than this. Although i have seen others towing more at campground with the Tacoma. Let me know if you have any more questions.

I would stick to something less than 3k lbs, wet. Lower, the better. Pulling up those mountains won’t be fun. Maybe a small tear drop or something like a Rugar with a RTT is all I’d ever tow with mine.
