They were not perfect I agree but most of what you mentioned was after some time/mileage and not delivered pre-sh!tty with hoods not glued (problem since 2016) and the same people who can't figure out how to glue a hood together are filling your AC system and transmission with oil. Toyota is trying to be General Motors of the 90's and live on reputation alone, lets see how that works out for them.

Wow that thing smoked on that slope in a mere 47 seconds!!

What's interesting is that Ford accounted for this in the Global Ranger which is a diesel. Check out the 1:00 mark in this video where they explain the oil pressure precautions for steep inclines.

    https://youtu.be/57TlaWZ-8U0

Hopefully they accounted for this in the NA Ranger's 2.3 Ecoboost.

I've never heard of oil starvation issues with any vehicles on incline's until I saw this. But it does make sense. I've only ever had one other off-roader which was a 93 xj... Going through some local trails we have some pretty decent inclines which of course you have to pose for some sweet photo ops for a couple minutes at a time, never had any issues or oil pressure warning lights come on with the Toyota or Jeep. This is good to keep in mind for the future though.

Going legal unfortunately will not net the desired results. In their legal speak they only want you to remain on the road. There are some scenarios where on the road you might encounter extreme angles but most likely not for a long duration of time. But im not a lawyer. Sadly we will continue to see events like this as (please don't take this the wrong way) Toyota put a car engine in a truck. There are some ways to work around this. 1st and cheapest is that a catch can could work, to a point, depending on the volume it can contain however a catch can was mostly designed to handle low volumes of vapor. So a large volume catch could work then one problem to overcome is how to return the oil back into the pan to avoid an low oil situation. 2nd and most preferred solution would be a oil drain back from the cylinder heads. I would expect the rear most cylinders to be the first smokers when going up hill. So I would tap the back of the heads with drains with a dedicated line to the oil pan. This However would be expensive and labor intensive and would void any warranty from Toyota. A 3rd option is a engine swap, be it a 1gr, 3ur, is, diesel etc. Or have a @Torspd engine that runs forever on jb weld.

Wouldn't honestly surprise me. Corporations don't get by by doing people favours, and not fucking people around.

Annoying to watch, but good info to consider. Maybe something similar would also work on the Tacoma? It would be cool if the same vendor took on the task as the Jeep kit looks great.

Just like the subaru wrx marketed for road racing. Subaru would market it in the different racing magazines and associations get pics of people racing and void the warranty.

Theres a reason theres an inclinometer in the truck that maxes at 30 degrees. 30 isn't even that steep. Ive had my jeeps damn near standing upright without issues. My truck has done it on my buddies driveway to his cabin, has a small steep section that goes around a bend and was a little slick due to snow. Probs 30-32 degrees, not bad but truck will start to kick white smoke after a lil time. I have had no issues with it, but would have no faith in it to offroad for an afternoon since most trail heads here are 30+ to enter trailhead or the areas midway have some steep hills that it should just walk up but will take a bit to get up due to the IFS and lack of real flex.. Hence creating longer periods at those angles. Supposed to be nice so Ill see if it still does it headed up there tomorrow. Challenge accepted
