I was on my back under the truck for tonight's earthquake. Not too bad in the LA area... but still pretty terrifying!

Anyone watching KTLA 5 news ??? , they just showed a pic of hwy 178 were theres a shift in the road of over 5' .possibly a indication of the fault

Also since the 7.1 Quake hit there's been (10) aftershocks over 4.5 to 5.7

Since the big 7.1 one earlier tonight we felt one of the aftershocks out here near Pasadena maybe an hour later. Nothing since though

Dr Lucy Jones earlier this Evening said because of the 7.1 main quake there will be earthquakes of up to 6.0 or larger for many years

Not that a 7 isn't bad... but subsequent CA quakes in this same area shouldn't be any bigger; due to the type of faults in this region. These are transverse faults. Very different than the subduction zone faults in the Pacific NW and Alaska.

Stay safe guys. Hope our TW community members in the area haven't suffered any major losses. I'm thinking about all of you guys.

It's not funny anymore, 3:30am and the dog keeps making these WOOF WOOF noises now. At least the rapid barks have stopped.

They're hundreds of miles away, what they felt was probably like a truck driving by on the street
