I replaced the original battery with "Toyota True Start" battery in 2013 in my 2007 Tacoma. It has seven-year warranty. I got 6 years and 30k miles out of it. I don't drive that much and I still do not have a slow start. It has a 12.3V reading when it is cold. I am planning a 2000-mile road trip. Thinking of replacing it. Any recommendations if I go with another brand? I also tow a small Casita trailer. Thanks!

I believe in changing batteries every 5-6 years in mild climate, but yours sounds ok.

If you do buy one, consider interstate simply due to warranty and availability, you can have one warrantied on a sunday at a parts store without an appointment.

Personally I would suggest a personal lithium ion booster instead as a precaution, they are great fail safes on trips.

Normal voltage reading at the posts should be 12.6 volts. You may have a cell starting to go bad, or it could be normal if some electrical components were on when you took the reading. Minimal cranking voltage is generally over 11.2 volts, and about 9.6 volts when cranking. But, voltage is only part of a battery's health. A battery load test is more accurate in testing the battery's health. You can use a mechanical tester, like a Schumacher BT100, or an electronic one like a Topdon AB101. All that being said, considering your long trip, towing, and age of current battery, I'd replace it for peace of mind.

I would also add or replace the OEM ATF cooler with a larger one, but that's for another thread.

OP - you did well with that True Start. I went thru 4 of them in another Toyota before I threw in the towel - apparently there were bad batches back when this was going on.
Shop warranty and availability. They are all made by a small group of companies.
For every person who says they've done well with Brand A, there is one who had a different experience. Batteries are the luck of the draw.
