This stuff came with the truck. No clue what it is. Is it a wax or sealant? Or meant for use before waxing?

I believe it's a sealant cleaner for the "Lusterizing Sealant" that is part of the "Vehicle Protection Package".

Probably would recommend discarding that immediately.

Probably not. Just do your own research and learn to separate the wheat from the chaff. The cool thing about Tacoma world is there's tons of info. The bad news is, u need to know who's full of shit.

I'd just use a known quality product from a known reputable company like Meguiar's or the like before I'd use that. It's likely just a generic cleaner wax

There are dozens of youtube videos out there that these days do comparisons between the different hybrid wax/ceramic sealant products. Turtle Wax Seal and Shine is the least expensive one and in every vid that I have seen it is either equal to or better than other brands.

These new ceramic hybrids are all spray-on and some, after the first initial treatment, are hose-off. They can also be applied over other coatings but work best on a clean contaminate free paint. Unlike other polishes, hybrid ceramics can also be used on plastic, chrome and glass.

Don’t open it and give it to a buddy you don’t really like that much on his birthday.

We bought a 2016 black Prius that was probably garages but not meticulously cleaned like I like to do.
I used mine from the Taco as a cleaner on that 3 year old Prius. It seemed to do a great job at that, just cleaned the paint up good. Ended up doing a fast caranuba wax to brighten it up after that. My feeling is that it may be useless when your truck is new..
