I traded in my 2018 Tacoma for a ‘19 Ranger. I really liked the Tacoma but there were things I like better on the Ranger. That being said, when I traded it in, I didn’t have my bed extender in the truck and found it in my shed this weekend while cleaning up. If you live in the Sacramento area, and would like the bed extender, I will give it to a member of Tacoma world. Please note, this is just the bed extender, and it does not come with the brackets. You can get the brackets for about $40 bucks online.

Pic after I got the window tint

Funny story, here is a pic of me pulling my son out of the mud with the Ranger. He had no business trying to cross that mud pit. But I thought it ironic and a little funny.

No, his sport OR was not equipped for that mud. My stock Ranger would have gotten stuck too. But I know better. Lol. He was out having fun.

I honestly really like it. I’m a “bells and whistles” kind of guy and the rangers offer more then the Tacoma. The Tacoma was nice, don’t get me wrong. But the Ranger to me was more modern and fancy looking on the inside IMO. And the engine and transmission combo is fun to drive! Definitely feel the pep in the accelerator. It’s not a sports car, but it responds well to peddle input. You can definitely feel more power with the Ranger. The Tacoma always seemed gutless to me. If I was a serious off-roader, I would have kept my TRD-OR, but I’m not. I choose 4x4 to drive in the snow and light off-road. I don’t go looking for mud puddles and rocks, so the ranger 4x4 is adequate for my needs in that respect. Those are my impressions anyways.

A Ranger FX4 showed up in my work parking lot last month, its lifted at least 3 inches and some large tires (I need to get a look at the size) and some aftermarket fender liners.

I have to admit it looks pretty good and was surprised how good it looks.

I'll see if I can get a pic next week.

Thank you. That’s the color that seems to call to me. It’s the same color I had on my Tacoma. Lol

Nice Ranger....my only thought is that soon everyone and their brother will be driving one. Gotta admit I have been seeing more Tacos since I got mine, but still not that many

You will never see as many Rangers on the road as Tacoma’s. Tacoma’s are everywhere.

Everyone and their brother and mother has a Tacoma here in SoCal lol. Good things will always sell well.

Looks like your sins taco is also pretty new with those paper CA plates, and got it stuck so soon lol!

People who talk shit about the tiny engine on the ranger have never driven those Ford turbos. I miss the peppines of my Focus ST. Good looking truck OP

    Somewhere in the Mojave Desert...
    Vehicle:
    2017 Tacoma OR 4x4 (formerly a 1998 SR5 PU, 2002 OR 4x4, 1995 4x4 4Runner, 1985 4x4 Toy PU) ... and RIP’s (rust in pieces) to a Bronco II 4x4 & S10 Blazer 4x4
I have to admit, my Ford Bronco II had tons of power, it was based on Ranger engines at the time. And with its 23 gallon OEM tank, it was great for long trips... while the engine lasted... and for the transmission already getting signs of more serious wear... in less than 130k miles... not happy about that. Hope OP’s is better.

I share your sentiments based on my test drive of the Ranger. The Ranger felt smoother, more powerful than the Tacoma. I did notice a tendency for the Ranger to bounce more than the Tacoma. As far as interior design, the Ranger easily beats the Tacoma.

I guess some of those impressions aren't unreasonable as the Ranger is a totally new design. Agree with the gutless feeling in the Taco. The power is there for sure, just (as most people would say I think) it just feels set up for gas mileage.
