I have a 2018 DCLB 4x4 SR5. This evening I came home after taking my boat out. My wife noticed the trailer brake lights were not working. Running lights do work but brake and turn signals do not. I am working the night shift so I didn't have time to troubleshoot before work. The trailer is fairly new and has LED lights with wired grounds. I was wondering which fuse powers the trailer brake lights and turn signals. The fuse diagrams I was able to find online show some fuses labeled towing but nothing labeled towing brake lights. I figured I would gather info before troubleshooting after work in the morning. Thanks.

I’ve got a similar issue. All lights work except the brake lights. My 2008 SR5 has the factory towing package so I know it wasn’t a previous owner’s shoddy wiring. That actually concerns me even more. Now I’ve got to try and figure out how to troubleshoot something being wrong with factory trailer wiring. :notsure:

Update and more info. After work I verified voltage to the left and right brake light pins on the 7 to 5 pin adapter. I then disconnected the brake lights and found no voltage to the brake lights. The trailer is a 2016 Karavan aluminum boat trailer with LED lighting. I thought the wiring ran continuous from the 5 pin connector all the way back to the lights. I noticed the wires changed colors at one of the steel cross members and realized there must be connections I could not see. I found 2 extra feet of wiring tucked into a cross member with connections. The cross member fills up with salt water every time I dunk the trailer and must drain slowly. The brake light connections had completely corroded and snapped off. The running light connections were intact. I cut a lot of the slack out of the wires and spliced them back together and heat shrinked the connections. I initiailly suspected the fuse in the truck because both brake lights were not working. Lights work great now.
