Hey everyone. Back in March I began the mentally challenging quest of deciding what lift, wheels and tires to put on my truck. Being a Master mechanic some 30 years ago and restoring several concourse cars I am not mechanically challenged however the information on lifting a Tacoma was almost overwhelming. The truck will never see offroad but will get plenty of beach time. After talking to 4 wheel shops and spending many hours on Tacoma World I decided to order Bilstein 5100s, OME 887s, 3 AAL, and Taco lean spacer from Headstrong Off Road. I intended to do the work myself but while waiting for parts to come in I met a guy who is a mechanic at a local Toyota dealer that did it on the side at his home shop for $300 including the ECGS bushing. I gained almost exactly 2" in the front and 2" in the back maintaining the same rake. I was slightly disappointed in the rake and wish I had used OME 888s instead to get a little more in the front. Before alignment I had rubbing on the right mud flap at 3/4 turn but after alignment from the dealer it had plenty of clearance and was now up against the air dam which was an easy fix. The lift pushes the caster to the rear. It aligned perfect except for the caster that is very slightly off due to the factory control arms. One week later I had 275 70 17 Ko2s put on my RRW wheels at Discount Tire.. At first I had some driveline vibrations at 20- 30 mph but the OME carrier bearing drop kit fixed it.
NOW Two months later the front has dropped 1/4" to 3/8" due to spring sag and it is like I am starting all over again.!!! Rubbing on the right mud flap is back and the driveline vibration is back due to the increased rake. Anyone have a solution to these springs?
Note: I edited it from almost 1/2" to 1/4" to 3/8" make it more accurate.

???? 1/2" drop in two months due to spring sag? Either they weren't set up right to begin with, or you got yourself some defective parts!

Get rid of the OEM flaps. Replace with Rokblokz. Should at least solve rubbing

I edited it from almost 1/2" to 1/4" to 3/8" make it more accurate. It is around 1/4" loss on the left and 3/8 " on the right depending on fuel etc.

That’s because most people don’t understand the 3rd gen is 300lbs heavier in the front than the 2nd gen. Running anything under a 650#-700# (depending on metal bumper or not) coil WILL sag over time. The same thing happened to me with the 2888 springs (590#) with my bumper

The TRD OR comes stock with a 700# coil
