    Hello Everyone,

My name is Gonzo and I am currently in the market for a Tacoma. Ive stumbled upon a used 3rd gen 2016 Tacoma Limited with all the bells and whistles. Based on your guys opinions, is this used 2016 Limited Tacoma with 30,000 miles worth the 32,000 price tag the dealer is asking for or should I save money and buy new. here is the link to the vehicle, please let me know what you guys think.

My suggestion is not to buy a limited and look for a built up off road or a pro. Limited has a different rear end setup than the OR\PRO. The off road and pro models ride much better than the limiteds from my experience

Not just no but hell no. I got my brand new ‘19 OR DB SB for 36k.

Also if you do decide to for whatever reason, make damn sure you take it for a test drive on the highway. That might convince you to get a new one as well.

    Oh and welcome...

Try and find a used 18 or with the premium package if you want all the bells and whistles. Also come with leather. I wouldnt go for a limited first choice imo

If you dont want a 4X4 and want a modded 2wd truck with options then this seems like a nice truck.Go test drive it

I think if you shop around you can get a new one at that price or a little more.......advantage is a brand new truck you know someone did not beat on for 30,000 miles.

I would start looking at new Tacoma's, the minimal price difference would make it worth going new.

New all the way. Lease if you have to. Buying used for not that much less makes no sense to me.

this is a pretty offroad oriented forum so a lot of posts will steer you towards the off road trim but the question that should be asked first is: what do you plan on using the truck for? daily driving with a bit of off roading? daily driving with a lot of off roading? no off roading and just the home depot trip every now and then?

As of others have said, this is a very off road oriented forum and those features may not matter to you, BUT a 2wd version of a vehicle known for it’s 4wd prowess in arguably the least desirable trim that’s also been totally modded the way it has doesn’t seem like a good buy to me. As others have said you can get a brand new TRD OR for not much more and get much more value for your dollar, then build it up the exact way you like over time.

Looks like a socal dealer, in socal there are probably more 2wd then 4x4 on the road.

    Like, so many.
If you’re spending that much, go new. Also, probably take a pass on the Limited.

Regardless, the price on the truck in the OP is too high for what it is. If the OP would really rather have a 2wd truck, which is totally reasonable, I think he could find a TRD Sport for a better price. Personally I’d want a 4wd just for sake of value a few years down the road and the peace of mind.

I paid several thousand less for my 2016 TRD Offroad, same milage, it was a lease return. Keep shopping brother, there are tons of awesome lease returned trucks out there for less then 30k.

It's a nicely built 2x4. Previous owner spent some $$$. Offer them $30k.

My opinion would be to save up and get exactly what you want. I looked at Tacomas for a while before I pulled the trigger on mine. I came from a Subaru Outback that I put bigger General Grabbers on and I had a lot of fun with that car. Initially I was looking at the OR's because I wanted 4x4 and off-road capabilities. Instead of saving for what I really wanted I told myself that I wasn't really going to use 4x4 that much and that I didn't need all that truck and ended up buying an '18 SR5 4x2. I still really enjoy the truck and don't regret buying a truck at all, but I wish I would have just got exactly what I wanted instead of compromising and trying to save a couple bucks. Do some research and figure out what you want the truck for and what your visions for the truck and get the truck that best fits your wants and needs.
