Patiently waiting for this for sure. Got some rock lights and footwell lighting I'd like to install.....already have MESO's puddles installed so the splitter and V4 will be perfect. Thanks for your hard work!

I plan on breaking up my mod into a-la carte.

    1) DomeRock V4 Module
    2) Universal Harness (For non 3rd gen tacoma applications)
    3) 3rd Gen Tacoma Dome Rock V4 Main Harness
    4) 3rd Gen Tacoma OEM T-Harness
    5) MESO Puddles Adapter

There will pretty much be 4 scenarios for consumers

    A) I’ve got something other than a 3rd gen taco or I feel comfortable splicing my OEM wiring, and want to save a few bucks. You would need 1 & 2 above.

    upload_2019-7-1_15-11-14.jpg

    B) I don’t have MESO’s puddles and want full PNP. You would need 1, 3, & 4 above.

    upload_2019-7-1_15-11-24.jpg

    C) I already have @MESO s puddles that came with the T-Harness (don’t need another one). You would get need 1, 3, & 5 above.

(Don’t have the splitter modeled yet but you guys get the idea.) No T-Harness because you have it already and the splitter added.

I'll be updating the first post with this information and there will be a shopify store built that has all the options available.

Also for the guys that were in the last batch of V3 who already have Meso's puddles.

I plan on doing a trade in program, I'll send you a splitter if you send me the extra T-Harness you have / don't need.

I plan to install these two LED strips this week (LEDStrips), more as puddle lights than rock lights. I will tie them into a CH4x4 switch. They don't come with a relay though. Would I need a relay for them to work with the DSIM module so that they would come on with the dome circuit? If not, how do I tie the module into them?

I don't have Meso's puddles, so I would be option B above I believe; only needing the v4 module, main and T harnesses right?

I appreciate any guidance. I have installed lights with existing wire harnesses a few times, but don't know much about relays.

Check out this post. You will need a relay.

Thank you. Can you tell me if it would work for me to order the Caliraised ditch light wiring harness (already has relay, inline fuse and two legs), or will I need a loose relay not already part of a harness? I guess I don't feel 100% clear from the directions in this thread or the page you linked how DSIMs module connects to an existing rock light setup.

I would just tap the wire from DSIM's module into the red1 wire of my CH4x4 switch?

The DSIM module senses the dome fade and creates an "on trigger". The fade out is sensed and turns the "trigger off". You essentially use this output signal to tap the "trigger" on the relay (turn the relay on/off). If you wish to also have a wired inline switch (dash switch), then you would need to wire that to have it's own power to also trigger the relay. If you go this way, it would be a good idea to diode the DSIM side, so that the switch has the override priority and doesn't somehow back-feed the module or dome/maps.

You wire your rock lights to the switch like if the dsim harness isnt there then you take the lines from the dsim harness and tap into the switch line in the diagram.

This diagram is from the old v1 harness that required you to tap a power source. I believe the new ones come with a harness that tops the black and the red wires to the a pillar harness so you would only need to tap the yellow to the switch in the diagram with the newer modules i believe.

That cali raised harness should be fine. But will you be running ditch lights and the rock light off that same harness? Because if you are and want to run the dsim kit the rock light and ditch lights will come on with the dome light trigger. You would need 2 different relays if you wanted the rock lights and ditch lights to run independently.

    Thank you!

Thank you for that explanation. Looking at the diagram again I see what is going on now.

I will not be running ditch lights off of the same harness; I already have some S2s that I installed using the Caliraised harness and I was impressed with the craftmanship and wire size compared to the reviews of some of the Amazon harnesses that I see recommended in other threads. I figured it would work well for this application too.

Now I'm on the list of guys awaiting a v4, but in the meantime will just get the lights setup and running off of that switch.

    Everything here is well said.

You can add a diode to prevent backflow into the switch, I recommend it only to Cover My Butt. But I personally did not run one on my CH4x4 setup or currently on my switchpro setup. For the OEM wiring I have diodes built into the module that prevents any possible backfeed into the OEM circuit.

The DomeRock module in a nutshell converts a negative trigger from the dome light to a positive trigger to an external relayed rock light setup that is setup for an anytime switch. Marrying the courtesy light mode with the anytime activation. Best of both worlds.

    Just an update.

Currently working on new diagrams and graphics, working on the site, trying to get some Gen2 guys and 4Runner guys to help me on a PNP option for those vehicles, and waiting on the material (Mainly the PNP harnesses and T-Harness's. The PNP main harnesses I am sourcing myself from a custom cable factory and the T-Harness's I am still buying from MESO). Pretty busy making sure I am ready when I get the goods to start shelling these out.

As always thanks for being patient folks :)

@Everyone I added a poll on the first post to try and gauge the demand a little bit better, while I wait on material. If you are in on V4 please go there and cast your vote on what products you are interested with the new a-la-carte structure (Its multi select). This is NOT a preorder or a waiting list, I just want to use it as a map on where to focus my efforts to make get this to the most people.

Also updated the first post with the new structure and scenarios

    Thanks in advance!

This may have been answered already, but will the V4 fade in and out along with the dome and MESO puddles?
I want one but I don't want the cool fade in with the puddles but then a blunt ON with the rocks

    Oops sorry guys.

Currently no fade with the rocks. The way you have to convert the polarity in order to have switch activation as well (ie the relay) will not support the PWM signal which causes the fade so I have a capacitor on board to stabilize the signal to On/Off. Now if you dont want the anytime activation you can just run the same way the puddles do. (Constant 12V+ resting and the ground does the switching) No module required for that setup.

To each there own but I dont have a problem with the fade/blunt combo. Here's an example of a user that combined V1 and Meso's puddles.
