I’ve done a good bit of searching on the site and have not been able to find anything referencing this. Apologies if this is a repost. Has anyone come up with a fix for the glare on the radio when the sun is shining straight down on it? Very difficult to see the back up camera with the glare on it. I was thinking something along the lines of a small shade that sticks in the CD player or something like that. Thanks for the assistance everyone. Have you checked your brightness adjustment?

i don't know what is up with recent models of toyota radios but i never had this problem with my 2010 prius. my boss' 2013 prius and my 2018 taco get terrible glare. i just have to hold my hand above the screen while backing up.

My wife had something like this on her 07 Prius. Worked great. Perhaps one of the entrepreneurs on here could work something out for the Tacoma?

OP- do you have your headlights on during the day? That knocks down the brightness on the screen and may be causing your issues.

... any screen protector will work also. It is basically a large phone/small tablet.

You have to go into the settings and change it to daytime mode. The screen dims when you turn your headlights on. There's no ambient light sensor from what I can tell.

That fixed it. Thanks! Can’t believe I didn’t think of that. I just assumed that it would have the Day/night sensor. Kind of crazy that it doesn’t.

Can’t find this in settings but I guess I could just turn the lights on and off. Just being a little lazy
