The usual for this time of yr. By Sat morning, people at any pull over spot.

There where areas to camp though.
They just started to put up "no camp fire" signs.

I'm sorry.......... :pout:I should have given a little more detail when I stopped over a couple weeks ago. Lol. When I head back out to Sac next (and during the weekend) I'll shoot you a text and see if you're around. We can head out to the river or something and play with our poles for a few hours...........

Very nice! That was our setup for the weekend - we were staying at a friends house which was super nice. Couple days of floating on the river, hitting the breweries, etc. Honestly would not mind moving out that way if I had a job lined up.

Good to know, I'll add that to our list - appreciate the reply. We had a pretty full agenda, drove past that area though which is funny. Such a beautiful area, been a few times, but this was the best so far!

Same here, checked before heading in Wed.
No signs around Jackson Meadow area. Just around Bowman.
Guess they wanted to get a head start before going into effect being deeper in.

took me awhile to get this down then i backed off the tension a bit and now can get good distance. Even then, still backlash a bit from time to time.

But like someone else said i dont fuck with baitcasters on trout set ups. Not worth the frustration it causes.

Has anyone ran Slick rock yet this year? I was wondering about the conditions.

I want to run slick rock this year, so starting to think about when I want to go run it.

At this point when I have a backlash it’s usually because I’m either excited or I start to get lazy. I got so frustrated with baitcasters I didn’t touch them for years, then picked it back up a couple years ago and have had much success. Higher lb test in the spool and (usually) a beefier drag system has kept me from breaking off fish in almost any body of water I fish.... which is nice.
