Looking for recommendations on possibly upgrading intake system in 16 Taco. Seen quite a few on auto anything.com and thought about grabbing one if the price is right. Are any of them worth the money or nah?

If you did change out yours, what did you get, why and any improvement in performance?

    Thanks!

Is the K&N Filter worth it? Not cold air but just air filter in general? Is the argument pay more now than later?

Keep in mind the factory provided you a CAI already.

And your fuel/air mix is ECU controlled, so you don't really get to play at the power party much these days.

you could change your drop in filter to a reusable one but really the paper filters are fine.

Actually that would likely be your worst choice.

They have done well with their marketing dollars though.

I wouldnt do it. I think k and n is less restrictive, thus letting more dirt into the intake. I would stick with stock, it is cold air intake and filter is better.

I had k and n ram air intake on my previous truck. Paid 750 for it, the only thing i noticed was cool noise and a bit better throttle response. Also it felt like it brought the power band a bit lower. High rpms felt same. Looked cool but i regretted it.

Dont do it man. You can spend that money getting something actually useful. Good luck!

I did the CAI and the Pro exhaust. Not really feeling the power but she sure does sound freaking awesome. I got both for less than 700 bucks. I know why spend the money then, well I have a lift but don't plan on going off road but I love the look! You only live once.

The easiest drop in filter would be something like the aem dry flow, reusable, easy to clean, and still filters well.

I have a Volant and it was worth the money for me for the sound. I had no expectations for a power gain. My gas mileage got worse because I keep the revs up more often to hear the engine.

Yet my 1st gen ran one from new and had 268k on on it when I sold it. The engine had never been opened up and still ran great the day it left.
