    Pushing it for sure. GVWR is your target but if you're going to blow through that, at least respect the GAWR on the door sill - that number is going to be more representative of what will break the truck and it's ~600 lbs more than the GVWR if you max out both axles.

    At least for my truck (1st gen doublecab v6), it's only like 350# more for both axles.

    Honestly, your target should be "as little as possible". If you are approaching or exceeding the GVWR, for your rig in it's "normal" configuration, you just need a bigger truck. Buy a Tundra. If you want the smaller truck, take less crap with you.

    Think of it like this: what can you bench, like max? That's your GVWR. You want to carry that much weight around with you all day long? Probably not.
