Im a little OCD and did not like the USB charging cable dangling in front of my dash. So, I mounted a USB plug behind my dash; tapped it in a fuse (fuse tap), and ran the charging cable through a hole in the Dashboard Multi Mount (DMM). I think it looks clean and satisfies my “OCDisms.”

Fuse tap. Found location that’s only hot when truck is running.

    Aye yie yiiiyyy

OCD is a serious mental disorder that affects about two per cent of the population. It consists of unwanted and unwelcome intrusive thoughts and images that cause great distress and lead to repetitive acts, behaviors and rituals called compulsions. People with OCD suffer, hence they call themselves sufferers.

Anal retentives feel proud and a sense of accomplishment when they clean and organize something. They stand back and admire their work, pat themselves on the back. People with OCD do not. OCD sufferers would like nothing more than be able to stop their compulsions. They take no pleasure in performing their repetitive compulsions.

    You are anal retentive.

Thanks .Jake... I don't eat my M&Ms in color order so I can't be anal retentive. Maybe I'm just a Tacoholic! :)

Hi ruffman - this setup looks great! I just installed the DMM on my 2019 SR. My Tacoma looks to be the same as yours, same head unit etc. How difficult was running the wire over to the fuse box? Thanks man - again, your install is clean. I love it.

Where did you ground the negative? Sorry, I'm a neanderthal when it comes to electrical but my OCD is on par with yours and I want to get the charging cable behind the dash.

I've got the DMM and the phone holder from Taco Garage but was thinking about getting this and attaching it to the ball mount:

It would be cool to also tap into one that is hot when the car is off as well. I loved that about being able to charge my phone in my old truck when it was parked.

Curious which fuse you used and how difficult it was to run the wire over to the fuse.
