When I bought my 18 sport M6 and recieved the tech package at no charge. Love the leather heated seats and the dual climate control.

My 17 OR came with all bells and whistles. I don't rely on the blind spot or backup sensors. There is no substitute for the old fashioned way of looking in the mirror. I do like the backup camera. And the heated seats are pure heaven. I even use them in summer as a heating pad for my aching back. The moonroof I could have lived without but it's there so it isn't a problem. I like the JBL stereo. I know there are better aftermarket options but it's good enough for me as an old man who is getting hard of hearing anyway.

KC probably has colder winters than ABQ, but it's cold enough and those heated seats are great on my old ass.

I didn't get the Tech or Premium packages, my OR is pretty basic, but I didn't really want all of that extra stuff... Would have been nice to have, but I also didn't want to wait for the dealership to order the truck for me... Wanted to go home with something that day. Although... I might be regretting the lack of heated seats and stuff like that when I move to Nebraska later this year lmao.

I ordered the Premium and Tech packages and like all of the features more than I thought I would. Enjoy your new truck.

I ordered my MT Off-Road with Premium & Tech - 1'6's & '17's didn't have the option to split up the packages quite like the '18's do. I don't regret it. I went all out because I plan to keep this truck for a long time and wanted all that was available. I really like the BSM and Cross Traffic. Using the tech combined with your mirrors makes you a pretty informed defensive driver. Heated Seats and Dual Climate are great. I use my moonroof a lot too. I wish they offered the JBL stereo to manual trans guys, but I'll take whatever they offer so long as I can keep my manual. Best of luck and its worth the wait to order.

Heated seats and Dual Climate control are awesome
Parking assist can be annoying but simple push of a button it turns off
BSM i don't rely on it but they are your extra set of eyes of the road can be life saver
Moonroof not for everyone but i love mine some are prone to leaks
    Love my color matched bumpers.
These options are not a MUST but better to have from factory in my opinion
    RESALE VALUE !!

The heated seats are a must for me in CO...especially after having them in previous vehicles. The upgraded stereo is nice and sufficient, although it’s not going to win any awards or anything. I also like the rear parking sensor and the blind spot assist but I wouldn’t say they’re absolutely necessary. I don’t find the lane assist particularly useful... maybe on a long road trip or something.

Most of the tech is not absolutely necessary (in my book) but damn, it sure makes the truck a pleasure to drive. It all works and I believe will be trouble free for the life of the truck unless things like sensors get physically damaged (someone smashes into your bumper etc). I think it's worth the extra cost.

Thanks for the responses guys. It’s kinda intimidating laying down this much cash for a car and not knowing exactly what I want but I know it’s gonna be worth it. I’ll prolly just go with the basic tech and leave it stock (blasphemy!) for a while

I don't have either in mine and don't really miss it. The stock speaks (non-jbl) seem great to me and really not needed to be upgraded unless you're an audiophile. Then again I have a sport which has the color keyed rear bumper, so it's probably more worth it in the OR models to get rid of the chrome

The only tech I have I think is the rear backup camera because of the tow package. It's really great with the long bed

I have a 19 TRD Tacoma Off-Road with the Premium package and NOT the technology package. My rear bumper is chrome. Why do you HAVE to have the color matched rear bumper to have the technology package? Is it because of chrome on the bumper or what?

I believe the painted bumper is needed for the sensors, don't think they work correctly with chrome.
