anybody added a aftermarket motion/shock or glass breakage sensor to the factory alarm using the hood trigger purple wire? If so, can you tell me how you wired it to trigger? Thanks!

I believe the hood wire sensor has a dummy clip on the end. The factory glass breakage sensor kit aka security upgrade comes with a new clip end that utilizes the hood sensor.

I wonder if I were to jumper that dummy plug like if installing the GBS, would that make the purple wire able to trigger the factory alarm?

You can use any wire that would normally trigger the factory alarm. There's a 22 awg pink wire in the door harness that is your lever wire which would work. Easy to get to without dropping your dash.

Thanks. I guess i will just use a door trigger, since i know those will actually trigger when grounded.

Only thing is if you use a door trigger or any other option that would initiate the door ajar light on your dash, you could be seeing that lighting up while you're chilling in your truck. The lever wire won't turn on any lights.

I'll snag a pic when I get back to work.

Is that the picture of the hood trigger or door trigger? Looks like a connector by the drivers door kick panel correct?

    Driver kick panel.

image.jpg That is the wire for the lever pictured. You can test it by rolling down your window, close all the doors and the hood, arm your factory alarm, wait 60 seconds then reach in and unlock the door by the lever (not the switch) and your alarm will go off.

So if you hook up a negative trigger from a shock sensor or gb sensor, it will set off your factory alarm via the lever wire.

This will only work if you have a factory alarm.

got it! so its not the door trigger, just the lever to unlock the door. This will not show a door open on the display. I will meter it when I get home.
    Thanks!

Does anyone has a final wiring diagram for a 4 pin (cable) shock sensor?

climbhigher23, if that pink wire is a negative trigger, which cable of the shock sensor should I tap-in?

    Thanks for your help.

    Use the negative output.

You can test the pink wire pictured, it read negative (-) when the door is unlocked and you’ll see voltage (+) when it is in the locked position. If you arm you factory alarm with the window open you can verify it triggers the factory alarm by reaching inside and manually unlocking the lever. Make sure you wait long enough for your factory alarm to arm. You’ll know when it’s armed by the red lock light on your dash; solid light = arming, flashing = armed

For tailgate I'll suggest you install a rubber covered trigger (like the ones in the car doors) or one that has weather protection.

Thanks for sharing the wiring! If you done it please let us know how it came out.

Idea for now...need a slippery surface (Teflon) on the pinhead, also a pin lock for when removal of tailgate is owner choice.
