I don't get the Hitler and Godwin's law part or the reference to balljoints one bit. So confused.

Having a firearm and getting stuck badly, I could at least shoot my truck.

Seriously, getting training with guns is the most important thing. Possession of firearms is a valuable human right. Without training and familiarity and a great deal of care a person is more likely to injure themselves or someone around them than they are to actually fend off an animal attack.

In bear county, black bears like other wild animals are deserving of our respect but unlikely to hurt a person who demonstrates common sense. Grizzlies are more dangerous so having pepper spray and bells is very important.

It is also good to know signs of what type of bears are in the area. A good way to do this is by looking at the scat piles. Black bears love the fresh clover of springtime and will have scat that is mounded and almost black.

The grizzly bear scat will be similarly mounded, distinctly larger and often smell of capsaicin with small shiny bells in it.

Much better put than what I was trying to enunciate! On all points.

I've spent enough time out in the wild hunting and exploring I don't get complacent. Keep your eyes and senses on alert and look for fresh signs of animals. It's also kind of fun. I take the kiddo out and try to teach her what different paw prints are. As she gets older I'll teach her more intricate tracking signs.

Yep me and her paw paw are avid outdoorsman. Even though me and her mother aren't together anymore me and him both are teaching her she has more interest in it than her brothers. I feel bad when she's old enough to date as I don't think there will be many men that can do as much as she'll be able to. She is always helping in the woodshop or helping me on the truck.

Biggest reason why she enjoys doing the stuff I do is introducing early and making it fun for them in small doses at first and remembering it's not about you but about the time spent with them so when they get bored it's time to quit.

I am far from perfect and she'll tell you that. Always reflect and see where you are falling short listen to them and try and be a better parent that they need or are asking you to be.

Why you gotta play with my feeling like that? I always think about having my own child, Would be pretty awesome taking out on long adventure and teach them about the outdoors! My father is a fisherman, we used to fish everyday after I get out from school. The beach was only 45min away. Even after a long day at work my dad would still take us. But now since I've grown I don't like it as much as I used too.

    Godwin's law:

Basically just that all internet threads, if go on for long enough will end up where someone will inevitably make reference to hitler or his deeds, usually when they're loosing an argument.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin's_law

The balljoint thing is an especially contentious topic of discussion for 1st gen Tacoma owners and enthusiasts (since our Balljoints have a terrible design and can fail catastrophically). It's a reference to how balljoint threads crop up every week or so, and people jump in with their hardline views of OEM balljoints. I was once directly accused of endangering my family and everyone on the road for using non-oem balljoints.

I've seen many threads (this one too, now, lol) where an unrelated discussion devolves into arguing about balljoints. so, tacomaworld's version of godwins law...

The coding gets screwed up sometimes too, I've gotten notifications before for conversations I was never involved with.

Just don't accidentally quote your own post. It creates a localized black hole.
