on my way to work this AM I went through and intersection and a guy coming the other way turned in front of me (he just saw the green light and didn’t see the red arrow) and I hit him doing maybe 40-45!

It’s the first accident I’ve been in and was surprised at how well the truck took the impact. The bad part is that I just got done doing all my mods. Now I’m trying to figure out what to do.

I think a lot of my armor, my rims and my bed rack will all be fine. Not sure what to do about the suspension. I’m also thinking I might just go for an 18 or 19 PRO after I get the insurance payout. Let the fun begin. 859BE749-1B86-4266-83A7-22A7557A6ED6.jpg62D40AEC-7B88-43EF-99F4-7BE8DDC5AA50.jpg

Sad. That was a good looking truck.
Glad you are alright but you might be feeling it in the morning. Did you get checked by ems?

Trucks can be fixed or bought again but the important thing is you walked away hopefully unharmed...

All the bags went off. I’ve never been in a car with airbags that deployed and I thought the truck was on fire because of the smell.

Well, the good part is that the soft swuishy humany innards (YOU) of the truck wasn't totaled. Sorry to hear of the accident, glad to hear you're fine. Hopefully you'll be able to rip the mods off the truck if it's considered a total loss and put them on a new one. Stay safe, keep us updated!

Went through this myself on a roll over at 6k miles. First thing that's important to know is to not take the first offer from your insurance, they certainly can do better.

Also, take as much aftermarket off as you can- your insurance will not give you a penny for it. I got most of mine recovered thankfully, and thought about going up to a pro as well. I balanced the costs and in the end I think that the TRD OR with the premium package was the way to go. I was replacing the suspension and wheels anyways and the only thing that I'm really losing out on is the hood scoop. Check my post history if you're interested in seeing what I did with it!

The passenger in the other vehicle got the worst of it. It was a little S10 and while it wasn’t a horrible injury, it looked like a possible broken collarbone and a probable concussion.

I’m a little banged up but I’m fine overall. Shins got hammered and the expected back soreness is setting in but I’m just grateful it wasn’t worse.

You need to go to the doctor to get checked out, is what you need to do.

Also, you're going to be hurting the next few days...ask me how I know.

Also, it appears that you weren't at fault OP, but I can't say it enough to everybody I know - dash cam, dash cam, dash cam, dash cam...etc etc

If you don't have one, get one...best insurance you can ever have in the event of an accident where it may or may not be clear who is at fault.

First accident, you’re starting big. Most start with parking lot squabbles.

Assuming they total truck be sure to get tax, it got to be $2,500 on that vehicle. Hope you can get the sliders removed the insurance won’t give you much for them.

I thought of that right away. I’m not sure how much it will help but there was also another driver at the intersection who offered to give a statement and I passed his info along to police and insurance.

Its not uncommon to get pneumonitis from the powder in the airbag so if you notice any weird respiratory issues call your doc.

I’m glad everything appears to be OK. Looks like one hell of a hit.
