Hey all! I'm new to Tacoma world as well as Toyota ownership!

    Anyways , I bought a used 2015 Tacoma 6 sp with 87,000kms
So I have noticed a few things since drive it for a week or so.

It idles a bit rough . Nothing crazy but not smooth

It doesn't get great mileage. Probably about 500 ish in town to a tank

    It shifts kinda clunky ..

Are these normal Toyota things or should I be worried

    Thanks!

Normal. All us manual guys (and gals) can verify that these trucks dont have the smoothest transmission. Mpg sucks too unfortunately. I got ~15mpg in my 2012 and I get ~17 mpg in my 2019. As far as the idle goes, idk I've never noticed that, there is the "toyota tick" that all my tacos have had

The things you pointed out make me think you came from a sport compact. The rough idle is a bit subjective but depending on the history of the vehicle and oil change may indicate if abnormal wear is present internally. As far as mileage, I get about 260 miles to the tank but my 2015 has a bunch of dumb heavy crap on it with equally big, dumb heavy tires. The shifting is a bit clunky IMO, but this is the first automatic I’ve ever owned so I don’t really have much to compare to.
All in all, I’d say you’re on par.

    Welcome aboard.

Its a truck not a sports car. Just keep driving it you will get used to it and learn all these sounds and when something ain't rite you will know.

What your experiencing is normal for these trucks. 500 KM to a tank is about what I get also.

    I usually get around 320-340 miles to a tank (530-550KM I think).

    Thanks everyone!

Yes , I did have a Mazda 3 as my daily for the last ten years. I have always had trucks as my weekend warriors lol.

This is my truck ! Silver wasn't my first colour choice but buying used I can't be so picky

I about choked also on your mpg. Maybe about 300. The idle on mine is a little rough also compared to my highlander which you couldn’t tell was even running.
