Crap. I don't know if I have male-female or female-female. Guess I'll check when I get the truck in the air tomorrow

Edit: they're half the price compared to wheelers  think I'll be shopping their site a bit more now :spending:

i prefer midwest Taco's that have battled
those Cali and other southern one's don't have the faintest clue...

i remember my dad picking up the loose rubber left by the 18wheelers on the side of i29 when we headed out camping up north. He had a lot of fun pulling over and makin backing up on the shoulder until he could throw it in the back of the trailer
and then he burned it to chase the mosquitoes away and make a bad smell

i also saw one of those treads get thrown up into somebody's windshield after another truck ran over it on i635 in KC, i was a few car lengths back on the outer lanes. I try never to follow too closely behind those trailers because of that

i never knew they had an actual name for those lol
unless i am having an early onset of CRS syndrome

Blown-out tire treads lying on the road are known in the trucking industry as “road gators.” When you're driving down the highway, the textured rubber of a tire tread lying flat in your lane can almost look like the ridges and scales on the back of an alligator lying in wait.

There's some pretty good public land just west of Paducah I hunted growing up. Ballard WMA and Boatwright WMA both have pretty good hunting if the KY licenses dont break you lol

Yea we stay away from Ballard, its been overrun by idiots.

We hunt mainly on the Cache River.

I got an email the other day showing the new rates for MO hunting licenses. FFFF that. We used to make a couple trips a year over to Ten Mile Pond in the Bootheel.

Been looking at skids. I know a lot of you guys have full skids. Whats your brand preference ? Pros and cons of aluminum vs steel. Aluminum is appealing because of weight savings but that price tag hurts a little.

EDIT: Looks like the main consensus is to go the steel route even though they weigh quite a bit.

Also, not a fan of how some of them make the hang down Y pipe work, so started looking into the reroute of it. Anyone done that yet ? Worries me a little about how close it gets to the actuator but i haven't found anyone that has had issues.

That doesn't surprise me with the way things have gotten the last few years. We usually spend at least 1 week at Duck Creek which is a little north and west of there. And Yea, Missouri's Out of state license prices have been getting more ridiculous every year, then I just compare them to Arkansas and say hey ours aren't so bad lol. Last year you could do a 3 day duck trip in MO for about $50 havent looked at it this year though. Something I've also done in the past is use a friends address who lives in that state and do in state pricing wherever I go lol

you can always Hammer steel back into place when it bends. Aluminum not so much.

Also curious about that reroute option.

I run full RCI skids along with the gas skid. They are 3/16 and not quarter inch thick. They have served well, currently supporting tree life @G.T. backyard. Ive bent the skid under the oil pan and below the front diff. So as far as thickness is concerned not perfect but has saved major components from damage and considering 1/4 steel will increase your weight...

I believe that most steel skid plate brands come in 3/16 and aluminum is 1/4.

There are a couple of vendors out there with a 1/4 steel

    I know @G.T. has 1/4 inch skids

You could borrow the RCI skids out of @G.T. yard to use as a template and make your own however thick you want:welder:
    1/2" thick + heaviest shocks and leaf pack you can find+ re-gear = win:locked:
