Ok guys, what would you do if you were in my shoes?
I am leaving for a week long trip down the Grand Canyon for a motorized 7 Day river trip. I will be parking my truck by the Marble Canyon Inn.
Should I remove my ditch lights in case someone would mess with them while I'm on the river, or just leave them on since it will be parked in such a relatively remote location?

    What would you do?

Remove all mods before trip just in case. :bananadead:

How are they attached to the bracket?

My ditch lights (and bar of lights) are attached with security bits (torx or snakebite) on the sides, and then for the bottoms of the brackets I have hex key bolts that you can't get a hex key into without the side bolts coming off and lifting the light itself up. Not that someone who had access to it for a few days couldn't get it off (few hours even), I figure it makes it enough of a pain in the balls that potential thieves would look elsewhere.

You could find everything to copy that kind of set up at any reasonably well stocked hardware store.

Yeah I think I may get just take them off. They aren’t attached with any special tamper resistant hardware.

I have looked at those, and I just need to order them and be done with it.
The only thing with those is the clearance from the bottom of the light bracket to my hood... which just means I will have to remove the brackets install the hardware then reinstall the whole thing together.

Yeah my "kitchen sink" approach is less high tech than any of the fasteners offered but, in my opinion it hardly matters after a point. Nothing is really theft proof, there's always ways to defeat pretty much any fastener.

To steal all my lights you would need a mix of imperial and metric wrenches, a snakebite bit, a torx bit, and a hex key.

Or cut the brackets and cut the wires. :notsure:

Jamming out with some fast yard progress...

    Yesterday it got started.
    pavers.jpg

Today patio is almost done, all the grading is done, weed barrier is down, and the rock is about 1/3 in my yard and 2/3 out front.

Nah I got hooked up with a guy who was highly recommended for his skill at laying pavers. Very happy so far.

I'm also gonna look at getting one of those sail shades put up because that first picture is late afternoon, and getting some nice shade in there is gonna totally transform it (and probably save me some coin in AC bills).

Fire pits/lighting/maybe a mural or some decorative hardscape will be my DIY jam.
