Don't know if there is a thread on this but I thought it would be neat to see your kid's 1st fish. This the 1st Redfish my daughter caught in Destin Fl. Man she was all smiles.

This was back in the dark ages. My daughter and I walked down a boat ramp (the only easy access to the water on the lake). Two folks were on the left side of the ramp, not having any luck. We walked to the right side. I baited a hook and tossed it in, followed by an immediate bite. Gave her the pole and said, "Pull it in." Her attention span was about that long, so we walked out. I looked back and the folks on the other side immediately went to where we had been fishing.First fish.jpg

    Great thread, OP!

My little girl is due in a couple weeks, and I can’t wait to post back in here.

Took my friend and his daughter fishing 2 weeks ago. She had not fished with him since she was a kid and wanted to go because it was his birthday. He said watching her catch this 15 inch crappie made it the best birthday he has had in years. Her smile says it all.

Our son and daughters first fish. She won’t hold one yet but she loves to reel them in. He would rather fish than eat.

Lovely pics! I can't wait for my daughter to start fishing with me. She is only 11 months old but will soon have a lifetime sportsman (hunting and fishing) license, something I wish my parents would have bought me as a kid.

In NC if you get them before their 1st birthday it's way cheaper. Both our kids got them as gifts.
