    A few OE parts from fancy trucks
    Nice marketing, but no bueno. Unless you alter the ECU, its in control. The truck already gets all it can manage.

    But please, feel free to stimulate the economy.

    Maybe go TRD, as it does look nice. Even though not a single TRD part was developed in their race program.

    Yeah.
    Older technologies, like earlier EFI and carbureted systems, could benefit from less-restricted air flow. They had less computer control, or none at all, mostly mechanical. My old Celica with a Weber carb has a K&N filter on it, probably jumped the HP from 96 to a whopping 105 or something. But for quite a while things have been computer controlled and the mixture is automatically adjusted. Once you have enough, it's enough. Adding more capacity that won't be used isn't going to magically increase performance.

    Again, I bought the TRD one anyway because I like how it looks on the TRD Pro -- and it's like the only TRD part that doesn't come stock. I already had the exhaust and didn't really notice any sound difference, other than maybe if you really get on the pedal.
