So my '96 Tacoma just hit 200K about a month ago. Is it advised to do any major part replacements prior to failure at this mileage level, i.e. timing chain, etc.?

Just want to be proactive and not kill my daily driver prematurely. Thanks for any help.

Do you have the v6 or the 4cyl? The 4cyl has a timing chain and doesn't require service unless something's wrong with it. The v6 has a timing belt that is supposed to be replaced every 90-100k.

    It is a 4 cylinder.

That's what I thought I just wanted to be sure.

    4 run, 2 don't
I'd get the valve clearances checked.

It's safe to assume you'll check all the other things out such as PCV valve, spark plugs, water pump, LBJ's, any and all bushings in your suspension, etc.

I'd do the transmission fluid and filter while you're at it.
