Purchased this a week or two ago and finally installed it this weekend. I have a serious aversion modifying stock parts, but this was super easy and even if you wanted to remove it you would not notice it unless you really looked for it. I've got the phone holder mount and a spare ball and it seriously looks factory. The mounts are extremely stable and I am finally going to give it a try tomorrow since I need to take the truck to work with me.

Extremely worthwhile mod if you need to have a mounting point for crap on the dash!

Been installed for about 3 months now with 0 issues. If you're holding out on this, don't. Get you that futuristic lifestyle of a myriad of screens in your face, exactly as nature intended.

Side note, my wireless magnetic charger is...fine. Not broken or slow, but I hate having to really gnat's ass (sp?) the position to get it to even charge, let alone "Fast Charge". It also isn't a super duper stable grip for off-roading, but I suspect both of these issues are because I use an S10+ and I feel like the charging surface is just too small to effectively grip the phone and provide stable charging. Plus, with the charger being exposed to the heat, even with a sunshade up, it's usually too hot and even though my phone says it's "fast charging", it's actually discharging...because that makes sense, I guess. I get it's too hot but don't tell me you're charging if you ain't! </rant>

I guess what I'm really trying to say is, I'm looking into a more conventional mount with grips or maybe some way to make a stand or some other physical stop that will help get my phone in the right spot quickly every time. Wireless is still preferred but if it will require plugging in to charge then I can roll with that. Open to suggestions from the wise forum consensus.

This is really the most versatile mounting system that is available aftermarket. Aside from a suction cup on your window... There are cutouts designed into the brackets to allow cords to come through. It uses standard (1"?) mounting balls. If you find a wireless solution compatible it will work. Even still, most anything can be adapted to it.

I have a wireless charger hooked up to it already. Even added a 3-way cigarette-USB adapter behind the headunit for future expandability. No issues with it aside from the first world problems I mentioned in my last post. Just curious to know what non-magnetic holders/chargers people have used because I'd like to explore different options. Plenty to pick from on OP's site and in the product discussion below, but I'd like to solicit feedback from those who've been using them for a while now.

    They are 1" balls.

No, but I see how that video might make you think so, you don’t have to do it before, I have a new video almost ready to release and it shows you can do it while it’s on your dash. You could do it while it’s off the dash but then you will lose your template for the hole so make sure you drill all the holes before you attach the studs.

I have a few of these that I will be selling, I’ve been testing them for about a month now with no issues, I don’t want to sell them yet because I want to see how good they are, so far they seem ok.
What I am doing is giving them away for free, all you gotta do is use the TW code for DMMs and make a note on your order saying “free cable” I only have lighting (iOS) cables but usb-c cables are on their way to me too but for now this freebie is only for iOS users.

I’m glad to hear that man, of course I love the free promo but what I really like to hear is that the people who use this system are happy with it, when I originally came up with this idea I had no intention of selling it, I just couldn’t help showing it off and now here we are, I feel very grateful for all the support i got from this community and looking forward to even more taco greatness.
    Thanks again!

I just got a new iPad and am thinking about using my old one just for off road navigation loading topo maps on it. It is one of the old heavy ones. Would this be stable enough to hold it while bouncing down a trail?

I don't know how much they (the ipad) weigh, but I have done several trails with a surface pro 4 (1.78 lbs) mounted on mine. Doesn't appear to be any issues.

Do you have a picture of your surface pro4 mounted? I have one but I haven't even thought about using it in the truck due to size. I feel like it would block the AC vents and much of the radio, no?

I do not have a picture, but I have it mounted on the far right post for my passenger (I don't personally use it). Form their perspective it does block a lot of the radio screen and the vent behind it is closed when I have it mounted. It does not bounce around too much though when I am driving, even on some trails around where I live.

I could probably do some pictures over the weekend. I do not have the ram ball mounted to that spot currently as I don't leave in available all the time.

Thank you fro taking the pics. That's not too bad then I suppose. It does block the one AC vent, but it does look like it works well.

A quick shout out... Excellent product!
My install went perfectly and I love it so far, works great and easy to install.

I also took the time to wire up a Blue Sea 1045
    https://www.bluesea.com/products/1045/12_24V_Dual_USB_4.8A_Chargers_-_Socket_Mount

I am using it currently to power a phone charger. It might be impossible to get a 'rapid' and 'quick' charge, but I thought I'd ask around to see if it is possible. I have a quality USB-A to USB-C cable already. Any ideas? Has anyone gotten a quick charge to work with a product like the Blue Sea 1045?

I have an Android Pixel 3 if that makes a difference.

Any info appreciated and again, love the product!

    Thanks!

    I ordered one of these:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R8JV1LX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I haven't installed it yet, but it will replace the stock 12V socket. I never use that damn thing anyway and hate the stupid adapters that go in there. You could always hide it behind the dash too if you didn't want to loose the 12v socket.
