Will 33's fit the prius with out no rub though?

I guess all TRD Pros are not created equal because mine doesn’t rub anywhere. I’m ramming Falken Wildpeaks 285/75R16’s on my stock high Tacoma. So far so good....!

@TrptameneWith I’ve taken it only once with those tires as I’m not much of an expert off-roading. This is my first 4X4. I’m sure is more fun when you’re an expert at off-roading.

 

Not surprising that they don’t run for road riding. I think the rubbing will come at full stuff while 4-wheeling with flex situations. Great looking truck! Can’t wait to get this size on my Pro. I’m just letting the stockers do their job for now.

 

Thanks for the compliment. You might be right about rubbing in the future. I hope not but I’ll cross that bridge when the time comes. Maybe I’ll get a 1” lift or something that others with experience can recommend.

Thank you sir..!! I noticed a little bit of difference on the gears, but nothing crazy. I do like how it rides. The shop that installed them told me to keep the psi at 40 to avoid too much jumping which I think works. Everything else seems to be okay so far.

No need to lift it! All you need is a heat gun and pushing the plastic of the fender well in a bit. No cutting or grinding required.

Damn this looks great -- still seems like it's so conflicting on the amount of rub. What tire shop did you use for install?

 

IDK about the conflict, seems like its usually a bunch of people who don't own TRD pros saying you cant fit them and a bunch of TRD pro owners saying yes you can with no issues. This thread is a pretty common one. I run 285s bone stock and go wheeling all the time and have had absolutely no issues.

Yea but this thread is about stock suspension. He said he had a icon lift. With stock suspension and UCA and most likely stock wheels the 285's will work

 

First post here! Hoping to help with my 2 cents.

I can confirm Nitto Trail Grapplers in 285/75r16 M/T “fit” on my stock TRD Pro.

The reason for the quotes is because when I have passengers in the truck, I rub when reversing as well as entering certain driveways. From what I can tell it’s only rubbing the wheel well and fender slightly. UCA would most likely rub under more flexing.

Worth it to me because they look incredible.

 

wow, so awesome, congrats! thanks for posting, as I'm planning similar in the near future and got the below from another thread last night that got me scared again:

"33” tires on a stock TRD Pro rub like crazy. Even when lifted 2”, minor trimming, and reshaping the wheel well plastic, still had rubbing.

 

Looks really good. It seems like the Nitto’s are more aggressive than my falkens. Could be the reason why they rub. I’m not rubbing at all but I’m feeling the pain on the mpg. Worth the pain with the new look.
