Avalon doesn't tow 8000lbs, so underhood temps, durability and capacity are not the priority.

Early on when I joined this forum I posted what I would like to see in my perfect Tacoma-about 310+ horsepower and 350 ft lb torque. Surprisingly you would even get, if not the same, but maybe even better mileage.

    Also a decent transmission.

I am not a Toyota hater, have owned them for decades. Just think Tacoma is resting on it's reputation and has lost its way to a degree.

If it has 301 horsepower. Probably want have but 250 lb. ft torque. I want 301 HP with about 350 lb. ft. torque. That would do something.

Consider yourself lucky. Less than 1000miles when this popped up, you can clear it but any highway driving it'll come back and you can't use cruise control.

Can't say it's out of the ordinary for my experiences with GM.

The Silverado 6.2 is a corvette motor....they should have really considered using a "real" truck motor....damn shame...

I have seen many a thread on this on the GM forum, thankfully it hasn't proped up on mine.... If I'm not mistaken, there is a ground problem in the wiring harness, I dunno. 1500 or 2500?

Highly doubtful. The Avalon is Toyota's flagship.

Seems kinda dumb to have to buy a $700 kit then spend a fortune on more expensive gas.
I like my money other places.

I tried the higher octane tunes. I'm happiest with the 87 FOB tune, which is the performance tune for MTs. With a small MPG bump, there is some payback.

3500, I think they've got it at the dealer getting looked at it's a work vehicle. Hopefully they get it sorted cuz it's not fun losing trailer brakes when you're towing 12k lbs with a loaded bed
