I have a lot of surface rust near my U joints and was wondering if throwing on permatex rust converter all over the area was ok or if it would eat the rubber seals that keep the grease in the U joints. Your advice and knowledge is much appreciated!

I plan on using Rustoleum Rust gel and then painting mine, I have bare metal rusting in the CV areas. Just be careful and you should be fine.
