It’s a truck... put oil in it and drive the damn thing. Take care of it and it’ll take care of you.

No you don’t need to change the oil every 3-5k, although a waste, you can if that’s what gives you a peace of mind I suppose.

No going 5k over the factory recommended (10k interval) won’t blow up or decrease your engine life.

No you don’t need to send your oil in for testing

These oil threads are getting out of control. Make sure it’s got oil, the correct amount, and run what it’s designed to and charge around the recommended interval. Your truck will be fine.

OP, on another note, let your insurance company know your reduction in annual miles driven. You may get a discount on your premium.

5k see what your oil looks like...may 7k if not comfortable going 10k. newer car engine can easily go 10-15k w good oil or 1 a year. all depends on driving habits also

Once a year seems reasonable. Make sure whatever you decide to do will not negatively affect your power train or any dealership warranty.

5000 syn, 3000 dino. I've seen 200K on the odometer several times, 100K a bunch of times. Oil is cheap in the grand scheme of things. Yep, might leave some on the table. Ain't changin' the game now though. YMMV (pun intended)....:rolleyes:
