I bought the Toyota keyless entry for my Tacoma SR 4X2 access cab. The instructions (McDonough file posted elsewhere on this site) are straightforward. However, some of the wire colors are in different positions in the connectors than shown in the instructions.
Should I connect the remote harness according to pin position shown in instructions, or wire color shown in instructions?

Duh! I was looking at the pin connections from the wrong side of the connector. Now they make sense. That's why they didn't give me the button to the ICBMs.

Most connectors have male and female sides, depending on how you're looking at them they might seem to be in the wrong location/slot.

    I bought this:
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-Key...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Installation was very easy after I realized I was looking at the wrong end of the connector and wire color codes/pin positions were correct as shown in instructions.
Only problem I have is that headlights don't turn off automatically and horn must be disconnected then reconnected after battery is disconnected or panic alarm will sound.
No biggy, I just disconnected headlights and horn from the opener since all I wanted to be able to do was open the passenger door without having to walk around the truck to the drivers door.
