    Hi Eric,
Trying to solve my stiff ride woes on my 19 DCSB offroad. In the rear, I currently have Fox 2.0 and a progressive Wheeler's Offroad 3-AAL in rear. What would you recommend?

I have not experienced off the shelf Fox 2.0, but they might be contributing to a "stiff" feeling, but also the AAL could be to.
Hammer hangers will take much of the rear jitters out which helps you live with stiffer spring rate. Happy to talk over phone about setup questions

Got shipping info on my HH :D

Installing the HH for use with stock shackles and OME Dakar pack - the HH goes in the same drilled out holes from the stock hangers, correct? No additional holes drilled forward or behind the OEM shackle?

I know that your shackle flip needs to be moved forward on the frame rails with the Dakar pack, just not sure on the Hh.

Thanks for feedback Jordan. How have the ICON RXT springs been?

Just submitted this message to ARB USA (rtaylor@arbusa.com) concerning 2005+ Dakar springs:

    Hello,

As a vendor on TacomaWorld.com forum, and as a designer and manufacturer of Tacoma suspension parts, I have exposure to issues that have emerged with using Dakar leaf springs in offroad driving on 2005+ Tacomas. I do commend ARB/OME for updating the Tacoma springs in recent years, however there are issues that should be resolved. Please recognize that I am taking the time to inform you, instead of just telling customers not to run Dakars, which kind of mentality is prevalent today.

    Main issue:
Excessively long 2nd leaf at the rear of pack. The 2nd leaf extends into the cavity of the shackle. This is a serious issue during hard off road use, especially when the rear axle is articulated with one rear wheel compressed up, and the other rear drooped out, the 2nd leaf below the main leaf slides out to hit the shackle. Worse, during droop, the rear of 2nd leaf emerges from the shackle cavity, then slides out of alignment (due to normal spring mechanics), and now will jam into side ribs of the shackle as wheel goes back towards normal ride height. This results in dangerous binding forces, terrible embarrasing popping noises, and damage even to STOCK shackles and hangers.

This same 2nd leaf, the excessively long rear can actually contact the hanger itself under droop and lock, since the leaf pack fans out. I saw video of one customer (Alex.Busta) who even had the leaf slip below the STOCK hanger lip as the axle wrapped while crawling through some rocks. Their trail fix was to use a battery powered saw to cut the stock hanger lip so leaf could be forced back to normal and the vehicle could continue.

Your Tacoma Dakar leaf springs are impossible to design around to eliminate these contact issues, therefore customers have 2 options: don't buy Dakars, or modify the offending 2nd leaves to shorten them at the rear.
I believe part of the reason that ARB has these issues with Tacoma Dakar springs, is that you are familiar with the Hilux and Land Cruisers in Australia. Your Hilux spring design was then relied upon heavily for the 2005+ Tacoma, instead of designing fresh for Tacoma's different shackle hanger setup.

Thank you for your consideration of this matter. Please take action to investigate and resolve these issues as soon as possible.

Really interested to hear ARBs response. All of my interactions with them have been positive, let's hope that's the case here too!

My phone call with ARB was positive, the rep said they would open an issues case and directed that I specifically outline the issue in an email. Hopefully it isn't just skin deep

This has happened at least 2 other times for me. During one time I had to actually smack the leafs with a 10lb hammer to free the Hangup and during he other time (last week actually) it freed itself with a very obvious and loud bang once I drove forward after a very aggressive droopy flex I did while wheeling.

Lucky for me, I just got a pair of hammer hangers so it’s no longer going to be an issue, but anyone with moderately long shocks and Dakar leaf pack will likely encounter this scenario during significant droop travel

I cant speak for the RXT’s by themselves unfortunately. I installed the springs, shocks, HH, shackles and cross tube all at once. As a whole, I have zero complaints about anything. I have ran them on option 1,2 and 3 and the rides are pretty similar to me, other than the ride height. I do notice a more planted rear end and less small bump and road chatter...but I am crediting that to the HH’s
