As the title states I recently had new retros put on with the morimoto xbt controller on the demon eyes and halos but the halos will not go off. The guy ended up hooking the power to a fuse that doesnt have power when the truck is off. That means for me to be in any kind of "show mode" my truck has to have power running but not fully on (battery drainer). Has anyone came across this issue and have a resolution to it or maybe another way to wire up so this doesnt happen?

I have the DS2 kit with switchback halo's so not the same setup but I wired my amber wire to the taillights with a resistor, and the white wire is wire to an independent switch in the cab so I can flip them on whenever I want.

Not sure the wiring difference on the xbt controller for halos. Sounds like you just need to get a cheap harness on Amazon and wire the halo's to that and mount the switch on a blank panel.

That was what I found through google as well but it just seemed like a unnecessary step. That may the route I have to take though. Thank you for the advice.

Ha kind of ironic! Something went wrong before I finished. (I deleted the confusion post) Seams like it’s a question of which circuits to tap into. I like to pare off separate circuits for all my line voltages and wire tap to relays when I need to hijack a native switch. Sounds like you are doing the same. I’m curious do the halos eventually shut off when the door close curtesy lights shut off? I’ve tapped that circuit on my last truck for an accessory parallel power to the sound system so it didn’t have to reboot during restart from accessory key position.
