factory side step, didn't get a chance to do anything to it yet, haven't even got to put it in 4 wheel mode yet. Lame, but I work a lot.
As the saying goes, cheap fast good, you can only pick one. Since speed is taken out of the equation, I think you got a hell of a deal!

They look like Avid offroad sliders? I have Avid's bolt on sliders and they easily hold the weight of the vehicle. As for damage from height, I have banged the HELL out of mine and so far so good! Cant comment on the way they mount as I am not an "that" guy. All I know is they work and work great! If I am ever in a situation where they bend my frame from some hardcaore ass wheeling....I am living the dream!

Finally finished these up this weekend. All of the hardware was replaced with grade 8 and all of the holes were drilled in the frame. After going through this thread again several times I decided that these sliders are fine for the type of wheeling that I do and if I ever decide to do something more aggressive I will just pull them, chop off the mounting plates, and weld them on with new plates.

I ended up using POR15 for the undercoating a few weeks ago and finished up with Roll On Raptor Bed-Liner for the UV protection and topcoat texture. Unfortunately POR15 is not UV resistant so here in AZ it wouldn't have been long before the finish started to fail with the POR15 alone. I do like the Roll on Raptor finish though. I used a 1/2" nap woven roller instead of the junk foam rollers that come with the kit. I would highly recommend getting your own woven roller for each coat. Proper prep is key for both the POR15 and the roll on bed-liner so make sure you get all the prep stuff or something similar that you already know and love. I used the POR15 and all POR15 prep products on the holes that were drilled through the frame too so they should never rust either.

    Prep First:

Then prep again for the Roll on Raptor Liner (scuff first with included abrasive pads):

    Then mix/apply Roll on Raptor:

Let the Raptor Liner dry (took about 40 minutes in the AZ dry heat). You can also see why taping/covering the vehicle finish itself is so important. This bed-liner is no joke, it dries quickly and it dries hard. I would not want this stuff on my paint:

Finally sit back and enjoy while it takes 3-7 days for a full cure. I'll be driving the truck during the cure period as it was seemingly dry enough after a couple of hours to grab and have no transfer at all. I will be doing by best to keep it dry though and will not be washing the truck until next weekend:

I think you did a good job on those and they look nice, but really helps convince me that getting mine powdercoated from RCI was well worth the extra $150. I don't have the time, patience or tools to mess with prepping metal.

My truck looks like crap here compared to yours, but pretty happy with the sliders and did the install in just a few hours myself.

And, yes, it does look like it's angled down in the back. I think that's partly the angle of the photo but I do think the gap in the back is slightly more than the gap in the front. I don't know if that's due to the truck, the slider, the install or a combination. I did get it tight to the frame so I don't think it's the install.

Thanks! The amount of prep work did kind of suck but it was worth it in the end. I can say that as a trial attorney having POR15 on my hands for 3 full weeks (I wore gloves but when I did one final little touch up I didn't....stupid me) was fun to explain to clients and judges. Luckily I didn't have any actual jury trials scheduled in that time frame!

Your sliders look good too! I do like the powdercoat but figured that bedliner will be easier to touch up and match when it inevitably gets scraped on the trail. As far as the angle down on yours, it looks like the slider itself may be bent? Not sure if its just the photo though.

Sliders seem to be working like they should, three off road trips around Arizona so far on them with plenty of use. The raptor liner is extremely durable. There are plenty of places on the underside where you can tell there has been contact and the only places the raptor liner and POR15 have actually come off is where the steel is actually "gouged".

I have sprayed a couple of truck beds with raptor liner and it looks good and holds up well. And does not fade.

I really liked the ease of the Roll-On Raptor plus the fact that it comes with 2 cans is nice for painting armor since it basically gives you an "uncured" touch up can that you can use once in the future. My plan is to paint my Demello bumper the same way as these sliders when it comes in and touch up the sliders at that time.
