    hi everyone,

I got an upgrade for my dash cam which now has a hard wire kit which I'd like install. I will be using add-a-fuse. I need to connect one wire to ACC and another one for BATT (always ON) to my trucks fuse under the driver side dash.

My problem is that I have already two accessories connected (a friend helped). One is DSIM module and another is my Meso always-ON ECT mod. Any other fuse good for ACC?

I am looking for another fuse to tap into for my ACC.
Also for a fuse which is always hot for the BATT fuse cable be connected to as well.

    Any help is much appreciated.

Ok. Thank you. That takes care of one of them.
Any idea if there's an ALWAYS HOT fuse under the dash that has power even when the truck is OFF? I know of a particular green wire I could tap into elsewhere under the dash (rear truck bed light switch), but I am trying to find out if there's a cleaner way to add the add-a-fuse instead of splicing into that green wire.

The empty slot closest to the driver (beside the 5) is hot 12v.
    15A Hazard is always hot.
20A Door lock is always hot (I think you've already used it).

That was me trying to remove the fuses before I realized that there's a fuse puller inside the engine bay :). Naive mistakes.

If you don’t have a sunroof, use that fuse which is what I did and haven’t had any issues.

Please share on which fuse you are going to use for the steady on, I did not purchase a dashcam yet but the one I am looking at has buffered parking and that requires a hot tap always on

I made no taps any where yet

Which dash cam do you have? I have been reading posts from @USDashCamera and it has spiked my interest.

I have the Street Guardian SG9663DC dual cam dash cam, which has a camera for both front and the back. This is my 4th dash camera so I may know a thing or two about dash cameras.
So far this is the most reliably built and best dash cam available in the market. You can learn more from www.dashcamtalk.com and their forum.
Important thing to note is that buying the right dashcam is only half the work. The other half is buying the correct and reliable microSD card. Most microSD cards can't take the punishment dashcam put them to.
You would need a High Endurance, High Performance SD card. Like the High Endurance 128GB microSD Samsung makes or the Transcend High Performance 64GB card.

My tacoma i used a bluesea fuse box that I wired straight to the battery, and the ACC fuse so I did not use a fuse for the BATT connection. The reason I did this was because I am sometimes testing several cams that need to be hardwired so its a lot easier using an aux fuse box instead of tapping into the fuse box under the steering wheel.

but in the past I think i typically used fuses that were for any sort of interior LED lighting, that way if a fuse blows or there is an issue its not a big deal.

i would get one of those cheap light up voltage testers if you don't have one already. I just go one by one testing them to see if they are on or off while the vehicle is off, then check to see what the fuse does from the manual.

I used to have several of the add a fuse taps under the steering wheel and a few in the hood box as well. Finally got tired of all the wires and taps, so I added a auxiliary fuse box under the hood. I have a blue seas one that has both keyed and always hot circuits and built in grounds as well. It is much cleaner, and safer as well. Nothing that is a necessity to make the truck get me home is either in the auxiliary box, or tapped into.
