So i pull the drums on my sport to paint them as i was tired of looking at the rusted ones with my black rims and the "paper /wax" piece that they have to stop the two rusting together is a one time use, as it rips when you take it apart.
Anyone have a part # for it?
I have been looking but can't find a part diagram of the drum/brake area.
So anyone that has pulled it apart - just leaving it out? or putting some lube on it instead? so you can get it apart in 3 years.

looking for some options or different ideas, or Amazon ?

    So Part # anyone

this is from a 4runner, only thing i can find

When I get to that job someday, I'll be using anti-sieze there. I always put it in between the hub and rotor (or drum in this case), and between the rotor and wheel.

Painted my drums while I had the rear apart for 5.29 install. 60% or so of paper ripped off easily, the rest of it i soaked with water, and scraped off with a razor blade. Used antiseize in place of the paper gasket during reassembly.

Funny the dealer Web list that as not fitting my 16 sport. I would like a thicker ones (that is what she said )they probably updated the number, will need to call them.

I haven't tested it for 100 years, but I can tell you it lasts longer than 10 years on multiple cars. Salted roads or not. Nothing washes out the space where the anti-sieze is applied and it never hardens.

You're reapplying when you change rotors/drums anyhow.

We used to do it here where I work, between drums. Doesn’t last a year.

Those paper gaskets exist for a reason. The oil compounds in never seize heat and creep out, leaving the copper/aluminum mixture lonely, eventually turning to dust.
