I have had my 3G DCLB for a year and a half. I have become a little sour on the extra length for parking in tight lots and the overall "quality" of the vehicle for a Toyota is pretty low, in my opinion. I started by looking at the ZR2 diesel (rides like cack) and the Ranger (wife hates Ford, because of me and won't be talked out of it) but, neither possesses the same ride quality and the MPG is close enough to the same that I couldn't really justify it. HOWEVER, we have been looking at getting a 3G DCSB 6spd, or possibly a T4R. We use the vehicle for bird hunting in some fairly rutted out high desert roads, driving 200 miles each way to get there, and to camp out of. Maybe I'll just keep the DCLB but, I do love a good mental masturbation as much as the next guy! Talk me out of or into....

Ummm. If you can't park a DCLB Tacoma....

    Learn to drive a truck.

A T4R is the only thing worth selling for. They're nicer than Tacomas.

I think getting the dclb defeats the purpose of buying a midsize truck .

I forgot to add, I really like DC because I can drop the back seats and our dog crates will go right on top of that platform. I had a 2nd gen AC and I like to have the dogs in the cab, in their crates for safety and temp control

This is my first truck DCLB (does an LC80 count?), and I never had an issue wth parking or getting around.
I do not know if having a cap will increase the difficulty of driving around.

But, I would get DCSB just for the MT.
Wish DCLB had an MT option...

Relative has a ZR2 diesel and loves it. Zero issues, super comfortable ride and 23-24 mpg on the freeway.

I used to be a big diesel guy, before the government got all bored. Now, you can get in some pretty hot water if you get "caught" deleting a new diesel and making it what it should be. I can't live with the way the ZR2 drives power-wise so it is not an option. I was very close to pulling the trigger but just couldn't live with the lackluster power and those DSSV shocks are gross, basically paying the upcharge to get lockers front and rear because I would yard those shocks and put Kings on.

I had a 2gen DCLB, traded in for 3gen DCSB and never looked back. I do miss the extra length when I go to costco and such but for daily use, love it!

Was way happier w/ my 2016 T4R compared to my 2019 DCSBOR, should have just bought another one.

I wish the 3rd Gens had the T4R 4.0... that might be worth having!
