    Or the fact that European automakers don't make trucks because there is no truck culture in Europe.

    It's interesting to take note off countries where pickup trucks are popular. Off the top of my head the US obviously, Australia, Mexico, Brazil, Middle Eastern countries and some Eastern European countries seem to have a lot of pickups. What would be the economic and social dynamics combination that would produce a truck culture?

    Honestly, I think it more has to do with geographical space than anything else. If you live in a EU city, everything is right there close...the store, work, entertainment. So you take your smart car or a bicycle or public transportation.

    Trucks aren't practical as an everyday vehicle for 95% of people that own them.

    Fuel isn't subsidized like it is here, a gallon of gas is $8 in Europe.
