Hello! Not new to forums, but new to posting as my information needs to be detailed.

Have a 2001 PreRunner 3.4 that I got from a military family member. Low miles, but has been sitting a lot with a topper so I’m doing suspension. I’ve researched the forum and have leaf springs and getting Bilstein 5100’s for the front. However, I continue to find conflicting I formation on the rear shocks. Some say 5100’s all around, but others and the websites I look to purchase from say that these are only for lifted trucks, and that 5125’s are for stock height. I cannot find these for sale anywhere. Has anybody used 5100’s all around for stock height and had success? Or can someone point me to the right thread? Not looking to lift at all, but my truck is sagging so bad I have lost 2 mud flaps, so time to replace. Thanks!

I recently installed Bilstein 5100 all the way around on my Prerunner. I'm still running stock springs on the rear. I have OME 880s on the front. Being a Prerunner we are lighter than a 4x4 and the reason I went with 880s. The base stock setting lifted the front as you can see in the picture If I decide to give it a mild lift it, the shocks will handle it. If I don't, then that's ok too. I bought the package from Wheeler's Online. They pre-assembled the fronts. I got the 1/4 inch polyurethane top spacer to fix/prevent the driver side Taco lean.

The last three custom car suspension builds ran in the neighborhood of $800 to $900 each. So I'm loving the Toyota Bilstein OME bang for the buck.

So I have A 95 3.4 4x4 xtracab with a topper on the back so I know the sag you're talking about.

I made the mistake of buying the bilstein 5100s for the front and rear without lifting the rear, and with the combined sag of my stock leaf springs and the increased length of the bilstein 5100s, the 5100s were almost completely compressed when I got them installed. Better to lift the rear with leaf springs and do the suspension afterward rather than buy rear shocks and try to install. Happy to answer any questions you have- I know the pain of sifting through 10k pages of TW arguments on suspension...

Bend-corners, I already have new leaf springs ordered so I’ll replace at the same time. Sounds like I should be able to run 5100’s in the read just fine.

You are already ahead of the game. I'm waiting to order new rears once I live with the lifted front for a month or two.

Buying suspensions is like buying shoes. You can see what others are wearing and pick out what you think you'll like. Though you really don't know until you live with them a while to know if you like them.

I have seen Tokico Blues perform and last completely differently between different model cars from the same company. One I love and the other I couldn't wait to change. Then you buy the ones you like but they don't last. I have run struts/shocks by Monroe, KYB, Koni, and Bilstein. So far Koni and Bilstein are my favorites when I have a choice.

I was with the idea of 4600 or 5100 bilstein for the way events happened (time factor , money and location ) I let my mechanic choose and he got the KYB gas-a just at the front , use same original coil, and KYB excel G at rear, keeping same oem leaf springs for now, the ride is firmer but nice, I like how it handle..... since you're looking for STOCK high , then KYB are an option and for leaf springs I would like to try these that are LEFT and RIGHT parts to replace OEM high.... $600 delivered ( On my long future plans )....

I had ask if any know the product but apparently no one has them:

Thanks for the advice all! I ended up getting the Bilstein 5100 set directly from Bilstein for $400 to avoid any possible mistakes with part numbers (only $20 more than other sellers due to free shipping). Got my leafs from TruckSpring for $330 shipped. I’ll update when I install!
