I posted this is the wrong forum the other day, and someone suggested I move it here.

Hello Tacoma world. I bought my first Tacoma about a year ago, and I love it. It wasn't new, but it was new to me. First thing I did was buy a new system to get some good tunes in it.
I went with Pioneer head unit and Rockford Fosgate around the perimeter. Since I didn't want to build a sub box (yet) I went with powered sub under the seat. The Fosgate powered amp hits pretty good for it's size and doesn't make the windows rattle or the plastic squeak. The front speakers are Fosgate mids and tweets. Had to manufacture the mounting bracket for the tweeters since I wanted them to sit center of the factory speaker holes that are already in the door panel. The rear speakers are 3 way Punch, and the panels had to be cut since the truck had no speakers in the rear at all. The mounting brackets had to be created into the door panel itself. I should have taken a pic of the mounting hardware, but I forgot. It took me a while to put it all in, but it was worth it. The small size of the access cab makes the music resonate all around you.

I would say more clear than loud. Don't get me wrong.... its plenty loud. I'm 50ish and I built stereos back in the 80's for EVERYONE that was getting their newish cars after working a year or two out of high school. This doesn't rival those systems, but the electronics are better now. We had to run electronic crossovers and cooling fans for that stuff.

The punch 5 channel amp runs the front and rear speakers. I went ahead and got the 5 channel amp so in the future if/when I add a sub box, all I have to do is run speaker wire and not power cables. No issues at all with any of the speakers running off the amp. Only issue I have is the powered sub sits right next to the seat adjustment, and it is hard to move the seat front to back.
This isn't really an issue as all my kids have their own cars, and my wife doesn't like to drive the truck. So the seat never moves.

cool. i’m about to replace my fronts but i think i’m going with jl audio components instead of fosgate. i have jl subs already. i bought my truck used and have no idea what’s powering my doors speakers, so i still need to deal with that. but i’m glad yours worked out, looks good.
