Hi! 1999 Toyota Tacoma extra cab here

Drivers side belt is a little rough on one edge. Not a safety issue, just annoying

I normally wouldn't bother with a 20 yo truck wondering if it is possible to just swap the driver and passenger belts?

They look the same visually - have not looked at underlying hardware.

Assuming not since they appear to be listed individually online but could always be a marketing issue.

    Thanks!

If your seat belt is a little rough on one edge, it is a safety issue.

The only reason I could think it wouldn't quite work would have to do with the device that locks the seatbelt in a collision. Like maybe the gears/widgets inside the mechanism have to be facing forward, so if you switch sides now it's facing backwards or something. The other thing is if the bolts that mount the mechanism to the pillar are asymmetrical, that would prevent them from being switched.

Looking at the exploded view here, it's hard to see how it's mounted.
