Installed my hood lift today. I didn't follow the directions... some, but not all. I decided to use flange rivets to allow removal. Measuring and drilling were per instructions; just, the holes were bigger. I touched up all the holes with paint prior to installing the flange rivets. I used 5mm flange rivets and drilled a 9/32 hole for them.

The tool is one I purchased several years back for a project on my travel trailer. It came as a kit with several sizes of nuts (metric and standard) and the sized pins to install them.

I used 5mm stainless pan heads from the hardware store. Clean install that can be removed if I need to change hoods...

    The lower installation.

I like this very much. Easy to use and as advertised.

I like that. Thought about it when I installed mine but figured if the rivets or screws come loose down the road I can just install rivnuts then. But I like the clean look.
