My son & I saw Crawl tonight. It’s an OK movie if you like realistic jump-scare movies. It’s better than most creature-features.

Anyways, on the way home, we came upon the topic about my little truck. I tell him one of the things I like about the early Gen 1 Tacos is they hit the “sweet spot” between the old-school ridiculously overbuilt/strong Toyota trucks, while still being relatively comfortable & with great gas milage (2.4 2wd).
I explain the old Tonka toys & small steel trucks (which I used to have & play with), which the durability of the Taco reminds me. Thus, I utilize Tonka branding on the truck & plan to add more soon.

When I get home, I look up cargo capacity for various pickups & am kinda surprised to see the 1995 Taco’s 1640lb is right in the range of modern full-size trucks (some bigger, as expected, but many actually a good bit less).

Now, a loaded 2.4 will probably be quite slow, etc, but that is huge for such a small truck.

I miss and wish I had kept my 99 tacoma. I love my current truck but that thing was bulletproof at 200k miles

Does anyone know & can enlighten me as to why that “bro lean” is even a thing?

I know the high tail was an extension of moonshine runners being empty having the rear jacked up (set up so the load would have suspension sit at stock height & not look heavy laden, thus attract attention). As those had hot mills (motors), it became “the look” for hot, hopped up rides.

Anyone know where the ass-draggin look came from?

the bro's thought the desert pre-runners looked cool, so they adopted it for street applications.

Eh, I thinks saggy pants can look great as long as your buttcrack isn’t showing and you have a large t shirt. It actually helps keep you cool a bit if you’re working outside.
