Need new rotors and brake pads. Which one to buy.

hi all.

Like my title says, I need new rotors and brake pads. Can you kindly advice which is a good one folks here buy/get? 41K. First time changing pads and rotors. Took my truck in recently for 40K service and service tech told me that I barely have any brakes up front. I have after market wheels and 285's. Said that the rotors have 'heat spots' and changing pads alone won't help, that they rotors also needs changed or else the new pads would make squealing noise. Is this true?

While I'd not like to take apart my wheels and brakes twice and take care of all the issues, I also don't know if my rotors needs to be changed. I have heard of warped rotors. But the service tech didn't say that.

Need suggestions for pads and rotors to buy. Much appreciate your time. Thank you!

I have been running yellow stuff EBC, first set were over new rotors, second set just over old rotors, the Yellow Stuff pads are murder on rotors, mine are very dished now and I just replaced this week with oe rotors. TRD Pads.

I asked if they can be re-surpfaced, and I was told over the phone that rotors with 'heat spots' make squealing noise if re-surfaced or not after the pads are changed. I don't know if he's true or not. But a pair of rotors these days don't cost too much so I am thinking of buying rotors too.
If everyone's of the opinion to go with OEM, then I could buy OEM. I thought this was an opportunity to upgrade/look for anything better than OEM.

Take a look at this thread that goes over brakes in detail, what to look for and what to avoid. The TRD pads won’t fit 3rd Gen, but I believe the rotors do.
