Planning a system install to upgrade my tired OEM speaker system. Figured that since sound matting has gotten relatively cheap due to certain brands like Noico on Amazon, its worth at least looking into. Has anyone actually installed dynamat/noico ect. in there truck? If so, would you reccomend it or do it again? I plan on doing the rear of the cab behind the storage, the roof, door panels and floor. Also did you use 80mil or 50mil?

My man, exactly what i wanted to see! sounds like you placed the mat on the inside of the door skin? How does it help with road noise? Sound system?

I put it on the inside skin, and some on the area the door panel mounts to and the door panel itself. 18 sq feet does all 4 doors
road noise is dropped alot, midrange increased, no more rattles. Best of all, its turned my truck into a cooler... between the noico in the doors with its aluminum thermal barrier and the thermal spray I did in the headliner my truck stays cooler longer when in the sun.

Noico 80mil, all day every day. I did both sides of doors, back wall, 50% floors. Tedious work but 100% worth it. Mine was on 17 DCSB.

Full interior with dynamat extreme topped with dynaliner. Doors did inner and outer skin/panel. Yes way overkill but I already had all the supplies from other installs so why not. Not luxury car quiet but much better.

Any difference in cab climate like 5nahalf said above? Out in Cali it can get real hot! wondering how much of a benefit the insulation can be.

Much better? as in worth $200 better? really curious how much of a difference the added dynamat made to the overall noise deadening.

Its just the aluminum foil layer on the noico, it reflects heat.

But in my roof, back wall and soon floor I used a spray sound deadener that has ceramic balls in it that blocks heat transfer through the metal.

Very much better but using dynamat and dynaliner it's gonna be a lot more than $200. Most of my noise is now thru the sunroof from the roof rack. The doors and back wall make the biggest difference.

I did mine almost 4 years ago. It's the best mod you'll never see. The doors sound so much when you close them. If you do the roof it doesn't sound like a tin can when it raining. If you know someone who has done it tap on the panels and you'll hear a dull thud sound compared to a tin can sound. If you lived in NC I'd take you for a ride so you hear it for yourself.

I used Noico first inside all 4 doors and on the back wall. Then I used Kill Mat on the entire floor just to do a comparison between the 2. Noico comes in bigger sections so there can be less cutting... but honestly I liked the Kill Mat better. Seemed a little easier to move around and roll down. It did have a little bit of an odor to it but it faded away pretty fast. I then laid down Noico closed cell foam and then a layer of mass loaded vinyl. I have not thrown the back seat back in yet but I cannot tell a big difference in noise reduction yet. Hind sight... I would not do this again.

Nothing between you (driver seat) and the back vents? I would put panel and back seat back on and enjoy the noise reduction. Also change vents to recirculate.

Correct I am still in the process of reassembly but had to drive to work today and it was just as loud as when I started. I am sure it will dull down some after all is back together but for the time involved I was hoping for a big difference. Just not there yet.

Ive been trying to sound deaden for the past month, I get small sections of time to do each thing. Originally I wanted to take everything out, sound deaden in one big swipe and be done.... but thats not happening with 2 kids. I pick a section and do that each weekend, all I have left now is the floor and to do 2 more coats of lizard skin on the roof.

I dont know. I ahve seen alot of the offbrand mat and aluminum lined insulation, that has some stellar reviews, for really cheap on Amazon. Think i can get it done for about that much. I guess we will see though.
