I saw a video on the 2020 teased where the Toyota engineer said the seat would lower that the present seat. He said the power seat was one of the most ask for features.

Wow its like we're on a Corvette forum or something - meaning all this resistance to 'this techie stuff that'll just break' (using my old man voice)! The power seats are now available and beneficial so that you can increase the comfort of the seat.

Simple Economics - its what the market will bear. Once people stop paying 40k, they won't be 40k anymore.

Some of you are soft and need all the creature comforts, I get it. I grew up driving trucks when they were trucks, not mall crawlers...I guess it’s whatever you get used to driving, to each his own...carry on.

In agreement on the $40,000 point. I got a 2019 F150 SuperCrew XLT 302A with dual power heated seats, Navigation, Android Auto/CarPlay, remote start, and waaaay too much chrome for ~$40,500 (There were A LOT of rebates ~$16,000+ off MSRP). If the truck didn't have the $1,500 20" wheel option, the price would have been closer to $39,000. Full-Size trucks should be low $30's to mid $40's, Tacoma's should be under $30,000 like the frontier is. Hype is what gets the Tacoma to the price it currently is.

It’s like the word “bistro”. Back in the day, in stupid Europe, a bistro was a place a starving artist could sit down with poets and musicians and other full of shit people and eat CHEAP, simple meals. But over time, the term has been misused to the point now, if you or I sat down at a “bistro”, these days, it’s very complicated and expensive food. We now live in opposite world.

The same thing has happened with the Tacoma. It’s now expensive and overly complicated.

And when I say cheap Toyota pickups/Tacoma's, I don’t mean relative to the competition, because they’ve always been more expensive. I mean there shouldn’t be a 16k price difference between my fully capable 4x4 Sr and a TRD, when all you get is a hood scoop or locker.

manual strg. is easier to steer when it's broke down and you're pushing it off the highway. Lighter, too.

Its a different time now. Trucks have leather seats (gasp!), heated seats and power windows. They're daily drivers. They're almost hybrid SUV's. Its what the masses want and the sales back that up. You are in an extreme minority.

Same with lobster. It used to be peasant and prisoner food. Now its a delicacy and expensive. Times change.

Damn... I don't even know how to "dial in" my seats. Almost all positions feel the same. In either of my cars haha. I don't even know if I've ever really adjusted them. I guess with age your back willl start talking to you.

Yes actually I would prefer that, I’ve said it before in a few other threads. Post dick pics, it’s the only way to be sure. You first though, since it’s your idea.

And I am a TOTAL badass. You’re gonna have to take my word on that.

Read the whole thread including my first post. All I said was I didn’t need power seats, then some knucklehead starts with the ‘old and set in your ways’ crap so I gave it back to him and a few people who chimed in...no big deal.

That said, my Tacoma has all those nice features and it IS my daily driver and best of all, it’s a company vehicle, I didn’t pay a dime for it. I don’t pay for gas, insurance, maintenance...nothing. But, being that I AM old school, I treat it with kid gloves because it’s the way I was raised...to respect. I guess you’re right, I AM in the minority these days with that line of thinking...I’m cool with that.

Have a great weekend...be safe on the roads, there’s crazy people out there!

Yes, you got your minivan. There are a TON of soccer dads. TONS. And I got my 2 door pickup truck. I don’t mind being the minority when the minivan/truck trend is spearheaded by domesticated dinosaur chicken McNugget microwaving simps. Next.

I am fine with the seat adjustment what bugs me more is the steering wheel adjustment it is pretty much useless IMHO if you do not have arms like Mr. Burns.

I used to drive 500 miles a week, with 2x 200+ mile days. Being able to adjust the seat to have different seating positions during those trips made a huge difference in comfort. Started with a bench seat in my b2200, that sucked. Pulled the bench out and replaced with a 6 or 8 way manually adjustable seat from a 323, huge improvement, but the manual adjustment was still finicky. Still a little stiff, but being able to make adjustments during the trip helped considerably. Switched to a Subaru Legacy, with 8 way electronic seats, sooo much better. Better cushioning, and much finer control of adjustments.

If I had to do that drive in the taco, my back would kill me.
