Just shy of 10 miles today.
Definitely bloody and bruised for my efforts....
    Pedal got my left leg...
Then, washed out on a turn, at the bottom of a flowy section....helmet has some dents/knicks/scratches....
Had a riding partner today, so I was pushing.....

Eh... still better than a good day at work.....

If you dented your helmet, you need to scrap it and get a new one. I know it sucks, but it’s seriously compromised and the next fall it may fall apart.
Plus, that usually means you might have a mild concussion. Take it easy for a week, and monitor yourself. Concussions are no joke, and should be taken extremely seriously.

Yep.. i have a collection of MC lids... one hit, and theyre done.
It is a small ding/dent... but, its there. Already moved it to the retired shelf.
We are on the same page....
Admitted to my wife earlier, that I think I went down harder than I thought.
Not my first strike, wont be my last... also the reason I always wear a lid, MC, dirtbike, bike, whatever.
Pretty sure the next one is gonna be a MIPS.
My new lid for the SM is a MIPS.
    Thanks for looking out:thumbsup:

    After-thought...
    Recommendations on shorts?
I wear a liner, and prefer my messenger shorts.. but, multiple times today they got caught on the seat.
Need something loose, at least in the legs....and prefer them long... knee, or a little below...

My taco and KTM 500. I love how the Leitner Designs rack crossbars slide forward to fit the bike in the back!

I've either been to busy riding or too lazy to clean her and post up a pic of the 27.5 Jeffsy CF Pro I picked up a month ago, so here she is anyways

Fox Ranger. They’ve made them for eons so it’s fairly easy to find previous season models for cheap online.

I have a pair of Humvee Lights which are really nice, as well as a pair of Zoics which are good also. But my go-to is an ancient pair of Performance Bikes house-brand shorts, with sewn-in liner, that I’ve had for probably 15-20 years. Just. Won’t. Wear. Out.

Hate to break some bad news, but Performance folded last year. Hit really hard here as their Corporate HQ was right down the road and I have a lot of riding friends that lost jobs. I think they never should have partnered with Nashbar and remained dedicated to being a premium, quality-driven bike store. Just a level in between a LBS and the big box retailers.

Yeah, I knew they went under, but their shorts just keep on going. We were lucky to have a store very close to our previous home, and I too liked their balance of inexpensive house-brand stuff, and quality parts and gear. Edit: I just saw that the Performance and SuperGo webfront stores (or at least domain names) were purchased by a Northern California bike shop last year and performancebike.com is around again. Selling Fuji bikes, Forte parts and Spin Doctor tools ... just like the old days. Maybe excess inventory from the old days. They even seem to have updated my shorts!

Awesome. So glad to hear man, so many people keep their helmets after a bit, or keep riding thinking, “I’m fine...”
We get one brain, and it doesn’t like being bashed around much. I’ve had my share of serious concussions, and I definitely can tell. I wish I had been more careful. I skateboarded for most of my younger years, never with a helmet. I snowboarded, and only after a serious concussion when I couldn’t remember how to tie my shoes for a week I started wearing one. They weren’t “cool” and for some reason I cared about that back then.

Agreed on the ranger and humvee. I love TLD rukus shorts. Tough, flexible, look good, perfect pockets.

Yeah, without putting too much out there, 13+ years ago... split a helmet front to back. Was out for a bit. No memory for a few weeks leading up to the incident, and lost a lot of my younger memories... best way tp describe it is holes. Occasionally some stuff comes back.. and... its just weird, almost like it isnt me? And I have short term memory issues.. which seem to get worse with stress/anxiety.

Yeah, i take it pretty seriously now....

To each their own. Just because someone doesn’t utilize a tool doesn’t make that tool any less effective. I’d rather cut the weight from the gut or bybtaking a leak before my ride.

yeah, WCXC racers use droppers now... if you dont use it its because you dont try. I'd rather have modern geometry and a dropper than suspension at this point. bennett.jpg

you can roll this with out suspension, but you couldn't with out a dropper.

I’ll get flamed for this, but I could give two shits less.

Dropper posts are not an essential component for riding. If you think they are, I’ll wager lacking on bike capabilities is just the beginning.

Note I never said that they aren’t useful.
