Our two main ski resorts (Sunday River & Sugarloaf) opened a week ago and I've been dying to get up there. I have about a 1.5 hour drive to Sunday River and a 2.5 hour drive to Sugarloaf. New snowboard and new truck this year. Life is good. Any skiers or snowboarders out there? Anyone live near any good resorts?

Dude I'm hella jelious. Sunday river is a bad ass hill. I used to live in mass and would make trips up to New hampshire and Maine all the time Killington, Loon, Waa Wa Wa chusette ! I haven't seen snow sceince I joined the military.

Sunday River is nothing compared to Sugarloaf I think. I love that place. Too bad about the no snow deal. I love it. Maine's #1 winter hobby is driving around in snowstorms and I cannot wait for our first. Hopefully you will be able to come back soon.

I try to and we have a few good spots out here in Western Wasington. Stevens Pass, Crystal MT, Mt Baker (which picked up 142" within a weeks time) and Whistler Blackcomb in BC.

Speaking of snow we had a pretty good snow storm bcome through the last 2 days and we got 8" at my place (a little unheard of this time of year) Snarled traffic and pretty much brought the Seattle area to a halt.

I used to live 1 to 1.5 hours from Grand Targhee Ski Resort on the Idaho/Wyoming boarder. I love those slopes! Jackson Hole, WY is good too.
Now the nearest 'ski resort' to me is comparable to the bunny slope that I learned on. :pout:
So on the second week of January I'm going to meet family in Park City, UT to go snowboarding for a week! :humble:
I'll also spend a day at Targhee during my Christmas break from work while I'm spending Christmas with my parents...

Jackson Hole has some nice slopes!!!
My favorite was taking the lift to the top and then going off the side out of the resort and into the backcountry. One time I went we got there first thing in the morning and had 1' of untouched powder! I love riding through powder! :humble:

    Why didn't you go!?!?!?
I'm kicking myself for moving out here(move cause I graduate college and got a good job offer out here)... I can't even go snowboarding unless I plan it in advance, take time off work and travel at least half way accross the US!:puke: And then I have to  that there will be good snow!
