Just bought the truck. It has a United States Marine decal on the back window. I did not serve and I do not want to disrespect those that did and still do by keeping this on the truck and having folks thinking that I did. Any good way of removing it without scratching the glass or using harsh chemicals, that you all know?

Get an eraser wheel. They're like 10 bucks on Amazon. Just stick it on the end of a drill and decals/stickers will come right off.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Use a razor blade to peel it off and rubbing alcohol to get the sticky residue off. Then wash window with windex.

Just make sure to keep razor blade flat on the window (like a scraper)

Nothing to it. Single edge saftey blade, shave it off.

Any paint safe solvent will remove the glue. Mineral spirits is my fav, but WD40 will work in a pinch.

No reason to get it down on the paint, but just in case, better to be safe.

Reckon I can put a rag underneath where the decal is to soak up the run off.

Plus unlike a razor you dont have to worry about scratches. Took me only a minute to remove the dealership decal.

Let it get nice and warm in the sun and SLOWLY peel it off. Most of the glue should come with it. You can stick/pull a lot more off with duct tape probably (use a dabbing motion). Removing stickers and decals is all about technique.

I've never seen rubbing alchohol do anything to clearcoat or paint

Razor blades work great. Also once a month I steel wool my windows with 0000 steel wool. Spray on window cleaner and rub with the steel wool gets all the small crap of your windows and no scratches.

If you keep the razon blade at a very low angle to the glass and take your time, you should be fine. I've done it dozens of times and have never had an issue.

One other thing to help prevent scratcvhing the glass is make sure the area is clean before you start. The dirt particales could get between teh glass and the blade and cause a scratch.
